Okay, so earlier today I tried setting up a race online between me and my brother. I shared my Subaru IMPREZA Touring Car with him, and set up a Professional Race with handicap off. We used the same car, same Standard physics settings, and he was completely destroying me. My car felt like it was being restricted even though I turned all the handicaps off. I was skidding to a stop on nearly every turn, and couldn't keep the darn thing on track. After 1 lap at motorland, a kid who had never completed a race in GTPSP was 24 seconds ahead of me. Can someone please help, I have no clue what the hell is going on. :grumpy:
 
I heard the same thing from a friend.
Same cars, settings, etc.
There is always one car better than the others.

I shrugged it off until I read your post.
 
Looks like this is not a common problem. I guess im screwed. :ouch:
 
I think there might be some latency issues if you are using too much upload/download bandwidth. High latency in online games can cause some pretty weird glitches.

Have you and your bro tried closing any other sources of network traffic?

Have you tried connecting with other players on AHP?

It might just be a high latency connection between you and your brother (aka a bad route that your isps are using). Since AHP has no system to check or display latency you wind up playing with people who have flaky connections and there is no way to tell. Like those times where you get like 5 disconnects in a row.

I don't think that could be the issue because we are both playing in the same house from the same connection. And it's always me that is left in the dust.....
 
Same problem here : same car - default everything, both on R3 tires, professional(standard) race, psp to psp ad hoc (not online).
Only thing I can think of causing this is handicap is driving challenges completed, I've done 15 gold and 1 silver, my pal did 7 gold

My sons and i raced together, and didn't have any problems. But we were racing on professional! But this was done before, we started doing challenges. Seems pretty strange, about what happened to you! I would try professional, and see if that makes a difference.
