problems ripping cds in media player

ok...ive got a bit of a problem....up until like a little while ago...when ever i go to scan a cd onto my computer itll work fine and save it...but now i went to go save the whos greatest hits into media player it doesnt do it...and it gives me an error message about something with the format and its not readable with media player...i tried with some other discs that are already saved onto my hard drive and those dont work either...

can someome help if you dont mind
 
If the CD was released in the last few years, it's probably some kind of copy protection on the disc causing the error. Try it with a CD burner as they can generally read CDs better and it's easier to rip (not scan) CDs with a burner.

rip...yah...lol i thought thats what it was...anyways yeah i have 2 drives and i tried both the burner and the plain old cd drive...i had to unplug my cd drives the other day to install a hard drive...and ever since i reconnected the wires to the mother board it doesnt work...i dunno maybe it has something to do with drivers...?
