problems with a trophy

I thought a good way to get the Arch Rivals trophy would be to try getting it by winning a race online. I took out my IMPREZA STI '10 and used it to beat a Lancer Evolution, the mentioned in the trophy description.

I cannot understand something. If I cannot win this trophy by doing it online, it should say so. Or is there some other regulation I may have to keep in mind for next time?

There's also the Dream Race trophy. While I have all three cars for that one, I haven't tried getting it down. So I can't get these online? Is this for real?

The trophy description doesn't say "a Lancer Evolution". It says "a Lancer Evolution X". It also doesn't say beat it, it says "Achieve a one-two finish". That means either the Impreza WRX STi finishes first with the Lancer Evolution X finishing second, or the Lancer Evolution X finishes first with the Impreza WRX STi finishing second.

There is nothing I'm aware of that prevents you getting this trophy online. Many other trophies are achieveable online.

Since you haven't even tried it, I wouldn't be in a rush to come to any such conclusions.
 
You can do the Dream race in arcade mode in a race, all three cars have to be on the grid, you just have to be one of them. I got mine that way and was easy if you turn the AI down. I used the Mark IV I think its called, the Ford one?

The Arch arvals one I got using split screen 2 player mode. One player being the Subaru and the other being the Lancer.
 
Go in 2-player, pick the Subaru, hold PS button, go to controller settings, Reassign the controller to player 2, start a race and push the other around the track :D
 
About the 'Dream Race' trophy, you can easily get it at the 'Historic Racing Car Championship' (or whatever it is called :lol:) if you are driving one of the 3 cars.

About the 'Arch Rivals' trophy... the reply above says it all :D
 
Use two controllers in split screen on a straight track such as Route X or the special Stage drag strip, all you have to do is hold down accelerate on both controllers...
