Problems with Internet Explorer

Well, 2/3 days before the skin change, I’ve began to experience problems with Internet Explorer (7).

The problems occur 1 out of 10 times when I click in a link (new thread link, new page link, et cetera)

Internet Explorer just stops and appears an error message saying that it will reinitiate. Also, when I submit new threads and/or preview a thread (before posting) it just freezes.

This only happens with GTPlanet

I know I am not the only one experiencing this problem (I thought I was, before viewing Johnhannibal message).

I hope there is a solution to the problem. I am now using Mozzila Firefox to viewing GTPlanet, but I prefer IE7, it is more easy to use.

Mabey I should read it all before posting.

Easiest solution is to get used to firefox. I think there are skins that can make it look like IE

I'm using IE7 here and am having no problems at all browsing GTP.

PS: This is a note for Jordan to help him diagnose, not a dig at Firefox.

I think these IE7 browser crashes have to do with some updated ad code for the banners. I've changed them around a bit so please do let me know if you continue to encounter this. Keep in mind that it may take a few hours for my changes to actually go into affect with our advertising host.

FYI, I haven't had a crash with IE7 while browsing GTP - which equals an open tab for 8 hours a day :-P

Like Jordan said: he thinks it has something to do with the ads.
As a premium member you don't get the ads, thus no crashes ;)

It still crashes.

But it may be the advertisements, because in these days I just noticed something:

V.S.

With Internet Explorer I am always seeing advertisements and such, and with Mozzila, I didn’t saw any advertisement since I installed it. It has something to do with that?

P.S.- I am not trying to compare IE7 with MF2, I am just adding information that may help diagnose the problem. (I just hope I don't get flamed) :nervous:

LdS, I think the reason you aren't seeing any advertisements because you haven't installed Adobe's Flash component for Firefox yet. Nevertheless, please go back to using IE and let me know if this issue still crops up. I am sorry that it is so much trouble but it is nearly impossible for me to troubleshoot this issue when I have no error message, no record of the problem, and no ability to replicate it.
