Problems with loading cars

i have searched the forums for a problem like mine but i can find one that matches it. i just tried to select a car from my garage. A red 95 mitsubishi eclipse with no mods on it. it froze at the black screen. i left it like that for 10 minutes to see why. i have never driven the thing and was going to tune it to race it. also i expirenced this same problem with my vw golf r32, fully tuned. The same problem occurs with the wing shop, for any car. i dont know how to fix it, my disk is not scratched or dirty, and my ps2 is not broken as every other car i own works just fine.
 
Has the PS2 ever been turned off while the game is saving/loading car data?
 
My GT4 stopped working once. Then all my games stopped working about a week later. My dad to a look at the PS2 and used a vacum cleaner and a can of air to dust it out and now it works fine.
 
no it hasnt been turned off while loading, that i know of. i have open it up while loading to fix the red clock problem, but thats it.
