Anybody but me using Netscape to visit the boards? I'm using Netscape 6.2 both at home (Mac OS 9.2.1) and at work (Win 2k Pro). Ever since we went to GTP5 I'm having major problems with both versions.

I can browse as a guest, and I can log in. However, it logs me off between every change of window, meaning I can't post or reply to my PMs or even see what's currently unread.
I have to log in many multiple times per session and even then I can't post because it logs me out as soon as I hit the submit button.

Under both Mac and Windows, I've cleared my cookies, disk cache, stored passwords, etc. multiple times. I've set Netscape to allow all cookies, I've re-stored my unsername and password, and I've got my profile set to auto-log me on and to browse with cookies enabled. Nothing works. Even if I log in using the "no cookies" button at the bottom, the same thing happens. I've noticed that GTP may not be re-setting all of the fresh cookies, even though the site is not on my "forbidden cookie" list anywhere.

I logged in today using IE 5 from work, and that seems to be working. But I don't use it at home and don't like it here at work.

PLEASE, somebody help!

Well, clearing your cache and cookies is the only thing I could really recommend. Have you tried changing the "Browse board with cookies?" option in your account options, and not just the login form? It appears to be a problem with how Netscape handles cookies, so that could help out. You also might want to see if using GTP Lite (see my signature for more info) to see if our new URL format is causing the problem.

Yes, the "browse with cookies" option is set to yes in my account options. Do I need to set it to no, and back to yes?

Edit: Well, I just fired up Netscape and changed to GTP Lite with no luck.

I also went and looked at my stored cookies in Netscape and there is nothing from either gtplanet.net, forums.gtplanet.net, or www.gtplanet.net.

Yes, try leaving it on "no" and see if that helps.

From Netscape:

OK, this is seriously wierd. I made the post above using Explorer, which I have running concurrently with Netscape. Note the edits, too; you posted again while I was testing.

Now I just logged into my account via Netscape, changed the "browse with cookies" option to no, and I seem to be still logged in. The acid test will be here in a minute if it lets me post this message. FWIW I also changed the "auto login" feature to no.

Edit: I even seem to be able to edit my posts here.

From Explorer:

Well, Netscape seems to be working though there is quite a delay (10-30 seconds) after I push the submit button to when it actually seems to start posting.

From Netscape:

I just switched back to Default GTP, and it seems the problem came back.

Edit: OK, here's another tidbit.

1) When I'm using the default scheme and no 'browse with cookies', it kicks me off every time I switch between index pages, but not when I stay on a given board, apparently.

2) When I use the GTP Lite scheme and no cookies, it doesn't seem to kick me off at all.

3) When I use browse with cookies, it kicks me off every time I change a page.

Man, this is very confusing! :boggled: The only thing I can really suggest now is to simply use GTP Lite with cookies disabled, or use the full style with IE.
