Hi fellow racers,

currently i use a Logitech Driving Force Wireless for my GT5 driving as it has progressive flappy paddle levers that i can use as accelerate and brake, you see i do not have full use of my legs so i can't use pedals that come with other wheels. What i need to ask is are there any other wheels out there with a similar paddle system as some i have looked at are just on/off switch type levers which as you can appreciate are of little use. I did used to use a pad but since getting the wheel i don't want to go back. I have tried finding out info from the internet from sellers etc. but with no luck.

hope you knowledgeble guys can help me out.

cheers.

@ Coxis : You should read the OP before replying.

@ mobiletone : I don't know of any such current wheels (I have and old Thrustmaster (IIRC) with proportional paddles though). What could be done is to take apart the pedals and mount the potentiometers, or suitable replacements, on the wheel with some springs and levers attached. It may not be elegant but it can be done by someone with a bit of DIY skills.

Thanks for that Dr Justice,

That type of wheel does seem to be kinda rare, maybe i should stock up on the DF Wireless while i can. Love the idea of building one myself, i am quite partial to pulling stuff apart and modding. Infact first thing i did with my DF before racing with it was to strip it down and put some silicon oil on the moving parts ;)

cheers, see you on the track on day.

I have an old Dreamcast wheel that works like that! Pretty sure the Microsoft 360 Racing Wheel is like that too (for lap use.)

How is the DF Wireless? I've never used one myself.

The DF-W is a nice wheel to use, it's one of those spead the mounts and sit on your lap jobs, but i mounted mine on an Ikea foot stool with a couple of bungie cords :) the Force feedback is a 24v motor though no where near as powerful of the expensive Logitech wheels, but you can feel evey skip and wheel going light over bumps.

The paddles are nicely responsive and the wheel is 1:1 with no dead spot, quality as expected from Logitech.

Got mine from Maplins about 8,000 virtual miles ago :) for £25 in a sale they had, people are paying 60 - 80 for them now on ebay!!111!

You could but some progressive buttons on-line and hack them into the chip board for the buttons on the wheel.
Bit off a mess on though.

The 360 wheel doesn't have analog shifters, but there is a laptop logitech wireless onre that does.
