For all you PC fans out there: Over the next little while, I'm going to be making a whole bunch of Project CARS replica liveries on GT Sport. I'll provide comparison pictures and download links in my posts. If you've made a replica livery from PC on GT Sport and want to share it, feel free to post here as well.

Let's start with the RenaultSport R.S.01
I recreated the Team Playseat #09 livery and compared them at Mount Panorama. Feel free to download it here:

Back for part two, this time the #73 Bilstein Z4 GT3 (my favourite GT3 car in PC2.) This one was at the top of my list because It's one of my favourite paints in the game. It's simple but it stands out. Sometimes slight model differences force me to work around some points of the car in GT Sport.

You can download it here from my gallery:

Here it is on the front straight of Suzuka. (or Sakitto for all you copyright dodgers)

The third livery of the collection is the Mustang RTR GT4 from Project CARS 2 carried over onto the Mustang Gr.4 in GT Sport. I chose the yellow #91 car for this paint due to the colours. I don't normally use yellow in my liveries, so this added some variety to my garage. Personally I don't use the RTR Mustang GT4 too much in PC2, I prefer the older mustang or the KTM X-BOW over it. Likewise in GT Sport, I prefer to use other Gr.4 cars. Doesn't mean I won't break them out on occasion, and you'll see me rocking this scheme if you do.

The lines running from the rear wheel arch to the front of the hood were a pain to finish, but I think I did an OK job at it. One side has a black stripe on it now that I take a closer look, but the reference side I was using for GT Sport didn't have that stripe and I missed it. At least my rendition has better symmetry. Overall I think some of the shapes in GT Sport's inventory aren't too great for replicating certain liveries, but it all depends on the vehicle and livery being replicated.

Fourth livery in the series is the RTR (Raceunion Teichmann Motorsports) Cayman GT4. It's a real life livery, but I used the version present in Project CARS 2 as inspiration more than any real Google images or the like. The orange looks kind of faded in mine like usual when comparing PC2 and GTS images, I mean look at my original playseat livery, I thought I had the orange from the logo perfect, but it ended up looking faded compared to the orange in PC2. The blue also lacks chrome for obvious reason.

Here's a picture of the original:

While this is a real-life livery, decal positions and some stand-in text strips have been inspired by PC2.

Now for the comparison. You can download my livery from my collection here on GT Sport's website.

I took position of the number plate into my own hands due to the limitations of painting designs past the hood's limit.

There's a Blue+ logo where the Jako logo should be because I couldn't find a Jako logo without the blue boarder.

The white lines going over the rear wheels look kinda crooked, but it's less noticeable when viewing the car from the rear view.

Great start with the Renault Bmw and Mustang. I dont like the Porsche :bowdown:Thats the Reason i try to make my own Designs. You did not match the colour and you dont have the option to place the decals the same way. The next i personal dont ike advertise for othe Racing Games. GT is GT not Project Cars and Forza. But they have great liverys for shure.

Yep, if you're looking for my original work you can find it all here:
https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/thre...ery-dump-plaza-link-to-download-in-op.369305/

I enjoy recreating liveries from other racing games because some of them look genuinely great, and it's fun having a specific livery for the same car across multiple games. (it also cheeses some of the fanboys too)
Also with the Porsche livery, it was hard to get a good shade of orange for some reason. Mostly because the lighting is different across both games so it's hard to get a perfect shade without playing around for a bit. So I usually leave it as-is. In PC2 there's also a strange lighting issue where some cars that have red stripes on the track look hot pink in the showroom.

Anyways, if you like this stuff but want something more original, be sure to stop by my livery dump thread to see what's there.

Here's livery number 5 ready to go! This time we have a Momo Corse livery across both game's interpretations of a Renault Megane racer. Both car's bodywork is different so I took some liberties while making this one. Also again this time it was "attack of the shapes" on some parts of the livery They were incredibly difficult to do with GT Sport's default shape library. Some examples of this include the curved outlines on the sides of the car, or the shape around the front Renault diamond. Yellow on my interpretation is colour-matched to the MOMO logo.

Is it possible to change the "R.S." on the wing end plates to "SMS"? Also, are there raised letter options for the tires?

I don't have that particular logo or anything like the number plate, so those are stand-in logos that I thought still made sense with the car and livery. The GT4 cars in GT Sport also don't have options for the wheel text unfortunately.

It took me a bit, and I went on a bit of a break from making liveries. Number 6 is upon us now. This time featuring a second BMW that has become pretty popular in the world of GT Sport. The BMW M6 has been chosen this time, with the non-fictional company Advanced Clutch Technology featured on the fictional livery in Project Cars 2! This one is a pretty good-looking livery with all the diagonal lines forming the basis of the livery. I think I got the angle pretty good, and the door mirrors were painted solid in GT Sport, so I had to go and replicate the black bits in the decal menu. The hood was an aggravating experience because there really isn't anything like the shape from PC2 in the GT Sport decal library, so I took some artistic liberties there. Overall it came out pretty good, and I hope you're satisfied too! Here's the link to download:

https://www.gran-turismo.com/us/gtsport/user/notifications/livery/1204631/1/8143071160136893968

Now onto the comparison! Let's see how they stack up. Monza from the recent 1.11 update, 12:00 in both games with no clouds in the sky. I used the M-Power Livery version despite the missing foglights because it gave me access to the correct window sticker.

20180204213917.jpg

MPVDTYR7N3DAAAYAA_.jpeg

Here you can see the pretty obvious difference in hood detailing. Some logos vary slightly like the BC Racing and CSF logos, but they all represent the same companies in the same places.

20180204213854.jpg

MPVDTCP7N3DAAAYAA_.jpeg

I tried to replicate the rear window decal in GT Sport, make of that what you will.

20180204213926.jpg

MPVDT9N7N3DAAAYAA_.jpeg

I'd say the side view is pretty on-point. I nailed the logos on the side skirts. Note the much livelier colours that pop in GT Sport due to the HDR, whereas PC2 looks very washed and faded.

20180204213906.jpg

MPVDTVO7N3DAAAYAA_.jpeg

The rear reveals the artistic licencing I took with the Bersmann logo. That company only exists in PC2 and I can't find an image on the internet.

That's all, I hope you enjoyed and I'll see you with the next livery.

Design seven is upon us now, starting off the third set of replica liveries. This time I'm featuring the Black Thumb Racing Acura NSX GT3 transplanted onto GT Sport's Honda NSX Gr.3! The bodywork of both cars actually varies drastically, but I think I found a good balance between exact replica and artistic licence. The main sponsor also doesn't exist outside of PC2, so unless I asked someone to draw up an SVG of the logo or I go to SMS' office, I'm not likely to get the Black Thumb logo. Instead I substituted a logo I picked up from the Discover tab that I thought looked pretty good. Again the lighting differences between PC2, in-race PC2, GTS in-race and the GTS Livery editor with the black background caused the orange to look off again like on the RS.0.1.

Here's the link to get it for yourself:
https://www.gran-turismo.com/us/gtsport/user/livery/1204631/1/5774271141620254225

Now onto the direct comparison, the area is the Aremburg bend at the Nurburgring, 15:00 with heavy clouds. The differences in the bodywork and lighting will become more apparent here.

20180213195207.jpg

MPZSJPJ4U1OAAAYAA_.jpeg

The rear white lines extending from the vents surrounded by the white paint are different due to the difference in wheel arch shape. The funny "OM NOM KERBS" on the rear wing and fictional Black Thumb logos were replaced with X BIONIC, Pirelli and Honda Racing logos.

20180213195229.jpg

MPZSJLH4U1OAAAYAA_.jpeg

Here some other changes in bodywork are apparent, the side air intakes are much larger and have a more vertical sculpt, while the GT Sport version mostly reuses the side vent shape from the road car, making it look sharper in the process. I tried to match up the wheels as best as possible with BBS RI-A Centre Lock wheels. The red ring isn't featured on any aftermarket wheel in GT Sport. Also what I would give to have a good "GT Challenge" numberplate as well. The rear overhang's aero also sticks out farther on PC2's version.

20180213195242.jpg

MPZSJNG4U1OAAAYAA_.jpeg

I wish you could use special colours on decals in GT Sport, I swear I have a good fluorescent orange that would have worked better. The design of the front hood duct is different, so the shape of the black paint "carbon" area had to be changed. The Pirelli logo was downsized to fit the different front extension design. The faded text in the air intake was also included. Both sides of the hood include the extinguisher and power cut decals from PC2, even though that might not be the most accurate placement in GT Sport. It's also easier to see the huge air intakes of the Acura compared to the Honda in GT Sport.

20180213195219.jpg

MPZSJ6H4U1OAAAYAA_.jpeg

Differences in the SMS logo, and I also added a tow arrow for an extra touch. The shading variation between the two oranges is pretty apparent here too. I also must have gone too long without seeing a reference and I placed the Pirelli logos in a more elevated position.
I hope you enjoy, and the next livery is coming soon.

Livery 8! This time we have a pseudo-Gulf design on the Audi R8 LMS from Project CARS 2. This one is kind of strange, considering that almost none of the sponsers on the Project CARS 2 version are available anywhere on the internet. So I did what I usually do and pick sponsors in GT Sport that best suit the shape and role of the fictional ones from PC2. The hood was a bit tricky, but I think I did just fine. The comparison here will be on Monza, in the daytime, at 12:00 with no clouds to be seen!

The pattern on the hood of my version in GT Sport is larger than the PC2 version, so those orange stripes run off farther past the windshield. Still doesn't look too bad if I do say so myself.

MPVCT_AU0U4AAAYAA_.jpeg

On the Project CARS 2 model, you can see much further into the car and get a glimpse of that sweet, sweet machinery. In GT Sport, those areas are really dark like they should be.

MPVCTF-T0U4AAAYAA_.jpeg

39611555345_77bbfaf151_k.jpg

Again using Blancpain number plates as they are the closest real-life match to Project CARS' GT Trophy number plates.

39611556655_b008dde439_k.jpg

Here you can see the Recaro logo on the rear wing instead of the fictional logo on Project CARS' version. I also thought orange over teal on the roof looked better.

I hope you enjoyed, and the next livery to round out the third set is coming soon!

Livery 9 is finally here! After a few months of doing my own thing, I decided to return to this thread and breath some new life into it. What better way to do that than to make an Aston Martin Vantage livery. One of the best looking supercars racing in GT3/E, it was begging for a better paintjob on GT Sport. Initially, I was going to do a livery from the V12 Vantage in Project CARS, but settled upon the V8 Vantage GTE when I couldn't find the decals I was looking for. I chose the Hankook livery for the ease of finding decals on GT Sport's discover page. Overall, I think it turned out nicely with the differences in bodywork. The orange I used matched the Hankook logo from GT Sport, so it may look different to the PC2 orange. Doesn't look that far off in my opinion. Depends on the lighting I guess.

Download it here: https://www.gran-turismo.com/us/gtsport/user/notifications/livery/1204631/1/7350459611648917529

Now let's see how they compare, at Nurburgring GP, 15:00, cloudy.

There's a lot more cut-outs and vents on the V12 hood than the V8.

The top orange stripe was a pain, took forever. Looks better on some angles more than others.

Team Pirelli - Aston Martin V8 Vantage GT4

I'm back to this thread with another Aston Martin. This time the GT4 version of the V8 Vantage. The livery I chose to reproduce was the Team Pirelli livery from Project CARS 2. GT Sport gets the model pretty spot-on for being an "unlicensed" version of the Vantage GT4. Everything down to the OZ Racing rims, even though the fuel doors are in the wrong location. Thanks to @daan for doing the "By Racers 4 Racers" decal.

You can get the livery here:
https://www.gran-turismo.com/us/gtsport/user/notifications/livery/1204631/1/5908745885235315217

The comparison is taken at the same corner in Monza at noon, no clouds.

So I'm currently at work on the Team RS-R Suspension #168 livery for the Honda NSX Gr.3 in GT Sport, but while I'm making that I decided it would be fun to do an interpretation on the Gr.3 Lancer Evolution Final Edition as well. This is just a side thing and I needed an excuse to make a Lancer Evo livery as well. So, if you're interested you can find the Lancer Evo livery here:

https://www.gran-turismo.com/us/gtsport/user/notifications/livery/1204631/1/7278460281399803929

It's not quite 1:1, but it's a completely different car so I do what I can. Work will resume on the Gr.3 Honda once I can find all the decals for it, so expect that sometime this week.

I'll also take requests because frankly, I'm running out of ideas for things to reproduce.

Again, I'm guilty of making another "somewhat replica". This time on the Mazda Atenza Gr.3. I know this is really sloppy posting, but I really don't have a lot of time and these are screengrabs from my phone of a YouTube video.

stuffpart2.png

It's a pretty good canvas for replicating the Cadillac liveries on, so I may do more serious attempts in the future.

Time for some new content! The Team Bilstein M6 GTLM replicated in GT Sport. Finally breaking the trend of "Pseudo Replicas" I've been making around here recently. Now we're back to full-blown recreations. I'm not sure which livery to do after this, so no hints in this post.

I like the way it turned out, but the yellow near the rear window needed to be extended a little. Still, that's just minor and it replicates the look pretty handily in my opinion. The black and yellow around the duct on the side was hell to make though.
