Does graphics settings affect input lag and fluid gameplay feeling? Check which graphics settings cause best Project CARS experience.

Part 1 - from Ultra to Off settings in same conditions: 1080p, rain + 20 AI's.

Project CARS final version, best FPS and FRAMETIME low lag settings - PC graphics comparition

Well it's more ab. relation between settings and efficiency than pure numbers given by our PC. Anyway, if you ask i've got full description under vid: i7 4770k 4.5GHz + 780Ti SLI. It's more than enough for single FHD screen, and just as much as you need for triple.

Thanks:tup:👍 Very useful information. Big drop from low>medium and high>ultra. Can you give us an indication which individual sliders have the biggest fps impact?

I'll post more testing result, in one word as usual: AA, then reflexions, then shadows, track details.
On FX side: grass for sure (not working with SLI due to NV problem), particles and heat haze.

It's not complicated to find sweet spot for our spec,
  1. use Fraps bench and throw frametimes excel to Fraps Bench (tiny app) do it with expected visual settings
  2. set max AI, rain and "heavy track" like Bathursts
  3. look for low frametimes 1/0,1 %
  4. get back to visual settings, and lower/higher accordingly to bench results
Hope that helps ;)

The physics/input engine is locked at 600Hz and is independent of rendering Hz if I recall correctly. However, lower framerate/higher frametimes will of course influence what you are observing and are able to respond to.

Par 3 weather, from sunny thru stormy to foggy on short Nurburgring circuit in same settings: 1080p, rolling start, 2 pm, all graphical options maxed/ultra.

Yup, any nVidia starting with the 660Ti should be good. Note that different mileage will apply when increasing the grid to maximum (e.g. LeMans).

AMD cars are not really an alternative in any game right now (unless you're going 4k), but until a driver update is released by AMD I would avoid them like the plague.

Project CARS best settings for high end PC

i5/i7 Haswell paired with single 7xx/9xx series cards like 780/780Ti/970/980.

Anti-aliasing comparison, which one to choose in Project CARS.

My pick with single card would be HIGH + FXAA HIGH, with SLI DS2M + FXAA HIGH.
