This is the discussion thread for an article on GTPlanet:

Whilst PMR had a particularly rough launch week, Gran Turismo 7 didn't exactly launch smoothly.Thank heavens I did not buy this. It has taught me not to pre-order stuff in the future other than Gran Turismo titles.
I'm really enjoying it on PS5, the patches so far have really made big improvements in the right direction, I'm 40 hours in and enjoying it.After saying that i won't buy it, i fall into th game aproach and buy it as a present for "reyes magos" gift -i live in Spain-. As i havent played it, anyone on ps5 here can say how it is right now? I love the aproach it has, that is why i get caught in Ian's web
Nailed it, if a full price release still resulted in around 60% of the workforce being laid off, early access simply wouldn't have been viable financially. But then again that also means reduced pricing in the early access period, which probably wouldn't have brought in enough from the early adopters to fund the needed development, so damned if you do and damned if you don't I suppose.
thanks for the answer! i hope they continue to give support to the game a grown itI'm really enjoying it on PS5, the patches so far have really made big improvements in the right direction, I'm 40 hours in and enjoying it.
Fromsoftware are also pretty reliable, other than that you're probably rightThank heavens I did not buy this. It has taught me not to pre-order stuff in the future other than Gran Turismo titles.
GT7 did not launch anywhere near the state of PMR.I hope Sony and PD take a good look at this and keep it in mind.
Because if GT8 has a launch like GT7, the way Project Motor Racing is doing now, they'll suffer the same fate.
At least for me, the GT franchise's reputation has suffered since GT7.
The result will be no pre-orders for GT8 and no purchases at launch, but if anything, only a few weeks later.
I remember many people feeling duped by the "good" reviews. I think the scoe kept dropping as more people played the game. The payouts weren't where they are now. The used car dealership selling option wasn't active. The MTX, obviously optional, wasn't received well. The gifts were weak. Same complains with always online as GT Sport.GT7 did not launch anywhere near the state of PMR.
GT7 actually played well on controller at launch plus it delivered on what it was marketed on.
This translated to both good reviews and great sales, doesn't mean GT7 doesn't have problems but PMR is nowhere near any version of GT7
I think until the series' in the game utilise the cap already there, it's pointless increasing as well. N-GT World Championship has 13 cars in which which is silly.I've been racing mainly with 11 other AI on track and I haven't thought once that I needed more cars on track 🤷 You can battle around for 10 laps around place 8 which is as immersive as battling it out at 28th with a 32 cars field. Personally it not something I would see as a priority on consoles. But that's just me
I agree to an extent with you on with some classes & tracks (regarding track size/pit boxes etc) but as always the option would be nice, doing a multiclass endurance race at Le-Mans, Spa or even the Nurburgring with only 32 cars isn't very immersive.I've been racing mainly with 11 other AI on track and I haven't thought once that I needed more cars on track 🤷 You can battle around for 10 laps around place 8 which is as immersive as battling it out at 28th with a 32 cars field. I think it depends on the type of race. Multiclass races definitely need a higher car countI've been racing mainly with 11 other AI on track and I haven't thought once that I needed more cars on track 🤷 You can battle around for 10 laps around place 8 which is as immersive as battling it out at 28th with a 32 cars field.
