Prologue and Home/in game XMB

A lot of people are obviously disappointed with the online play and the lack of private rooms and voice communication and the like. Many don't understand why PD didn't implement this better for prologue. My theory is (and I've seen one other comment to this effect) that PD is programming the online play with Home and/or in game XMB in mind. I believe that is why online is so limited now. PD decided to put in minimal features now and concentrate on integrating their code with Home/in game XMB. Thus we will not see improved online features until at least in game XMB comes out and maybe not until Home open beta is released. When is the Home open beta expected to be released? Fall. When is the next major planned update for prologue? Fall. Even if I'm right, it still doesn't change the fact that we have to deal with subpar online right now but if this is the case then I can understand their reasons behind it.

Personally, I'm new to racing games and I'm really enjoying online right now. It gives me a chance to practice before private rooms come out. I can put up with the occasional deliberate punting while others have to put up with my mistakes.
 
I strongly suspect that you are right... A few of the initial screenshots of "My Page", the front-end in Gran Turismo, included the "Home" logo, and there is no doubt that GT will be integrated with Home, if it ever actually appears!
 
I'm of the same opinion.And have commented before on this.

I fail to see any other reason why PD would not implement private rooms.

so this means it will take some time until we really see some improvements in regards of the online play
