Prologue Time Challenge: Evo VIII MR @ Citta

This is going to just be a casual continuous lap time challenge. No private reporting, no final results, just go drive the Lancer Evo VIII MR at Citta di Aria and post your best lap times. I want to see how good people can get with this car...

default tires, no TCS or assisted driving.
there's at LEAST another second in there.
 
I'm just waiting for someone to post a video.

This track is possibly the track I'm anticipating most, and I am interested to see how well the new EvoVIII MR performs on it.

Although skeptical about AWD on paved courses, this is not a car I plan on underestimating.

Actually, the whole lesson 37 thing left a bad taste in my mouth with regard to the Lancer Evo. VIII, but after spending some quality time with the car, I'm starting to warm up to it. I swear, somehting has to be wrong with the test car, because the car I'm driving at Citta now doesn't have NEAR as much understeer. And after getting acquainted with the thing I'm actually starting to like it! It's really a workout to drive with the wheel, and I'm learning to throw its weight around very well...you should see me come around that first hairpin! It's still not a great car, but it's not bad.
 
AWD can be quirky with understeer cuz they can accelerate so quickly that if you poke the throttle a little too hard on entry, you can shift alot of weight back and start plowing.

I'll take FR or MR over AWD any day.
 
Sven i think the test Evo had sports tyres, which is why it handled badly. Racing with normal tyres is a big improvement imo.
 
got some minutes spare time.

after three runs i got the car down to 1´40.985.
like Sven, i think there´s still a second on the track ;)

no need to use your DS 2.:D
i drove with my DFP, assists off, manual transmission and of course, normal tires.
 
How's the turn-in with the DFP set on 900* mode in Prologue?
I was let down by it's unusability in GT3.

Yeah but, as of right now, the DFP is a performance handicap for me. I still get about 3-5 seconds better with the DS2. :crazy: :scared:
 
I have set an time of 1:42.872 with no TC, no DA, manual transmission and normal tires. Used DS2 controller.
Still have some difficulty with the last part leading up to the finish, but will be practicing on that :)
 
I'll try to remember to see what I get when I next go to my dads house.
 
Managed to sharpen my laptime a little. Fastest lap I did is now 1:42.160.
I must say, the Lancer EVO VIII MR is really a nice car to drive with the right tires. I was also put off by the license test with this car but now I start to like it!

Flinx, I'm really impressed with your time and you seem to be able to go even faster: very impressive 👍
 
Just for my satisfaction i drived a few laps.It was quite fun. :)
My best time:1.41.065
I 'm sure It can be done under 1.40,with more driving!
