PS Store - Cant use my VISA card...

Hey!

I've heard there are some people having problems using the VISA card with PS Store. I just got the same problem myself. Anyone know if there is a quick fix for it?

Details:
I go to the account information and make sure the name and address are correct. Then I enter the billing information very carefully so nothing is wrong. I click start and come to the address page and everything seems to be correct. So i press "Continue" and i get this message:

Code: 
The credit card information cannot be updated.

Check your Playstation(R)Network account information, and then contact technical support for assistance.

I've already emailed the support because I know it may take a few days before anyone actually cares about my problem. So I thought the good people on GTP might be a little more reliable for a quick fix. :)
 
Did you activate the card? I know its a simple question but sometimes the most obvious isn't so obvious. You say "The Visa" card meaning the one you get with the Playstaion 3?

its my own bank card... i've bought things on ps store before but that was with my old card for the same bank account
 
Wouldn't advise posting a screenshot of your card!

Have you checked the playstation website(s) for information?

Yes, after a lot of hard looking and googling i found out that they've improved the security by forcing the exact name and address that the bank has written down.

The definitive solution, having phoned the bank, is to enter card details exactly as they appear on your card bill, not as they appear on your card.
E.G. In my case, the name on the card is "Mr. X. XXXX.", but the name on the bill is "Mr <FORENAME> <SURNAME>".
Some sites don't require this, but Sony does.

I had this happen to me as well, It wouldn't accept my visa debit card. Wells Fargo had no Idea why it wasn't working. finally I decided to use my credit card and it worked instantly.
 
Maybe Sony found out you put a copyrighted image of GT onto your card and thats why it wont work on the PSN store, punishment! ;)

I still think Sony is hungry for more money ;)

Anyway I called my bank today and they said I did everything right. He even gave me a Credit Card Number Generator!! :D:D But this one could only generate numbers that connect to my bank account :(. Awesome thing anyway. No problem solved yet. Now I guess I have to wait for the email from Playstation Support.

A full work day on Playstation Support Sweden has passed. No email recieved. They actually sit down several hours reading emails. But on a full day they didn't come to mine... Imagine how many people there are having problems with their playstation.
 
On day 2 i got a mail telling me to try again 24h after last try. It worked! :D Skate 2 Fantasy Factory here I come!
