I'm planning on buying (ordering online) the Action Replay Max Drive for PlayStation 2. BUT I was wondering if you need to have an Action Replay or an Action Replay MAX for this device to work. Help would be greatly appreciated.

I searched the FAQs on the site but did not get the answer I wanted.
 
As far as I know, the ARMAX comes in a pack with manuals and a CD-ROM which probably will install the .max format reader or something on your PC but I highly doubt you'll need to install additional software.

You may want to contact ROB256R, ge's selling and he'll probably will be able to answer any kind of question you've got on the ARMAX, or go to the Weekly Race Series forum and ask it there 👍
 
You only need the CD that comes with the drive.
It allows you to transfer saves between your memory card and an USB stick (seems to work with any sort of USB stick, but haven't tried an actual HD) and to and from their server provided you have your PS2 hooked up.
It comes with a CD for the PC as well, - but I haven't used / needed that.
 
All you need is the Max drive..I use it to upload and Download info for Codebreaker.:)
 
Oh ok thanks guys. I asked on other forums and they told me to get both. I was like WTF because the AR Max already came with the Max Drive.
