I was reading through the threads and found an interesting note saying that GT4 visions, basically GT4 but enhanced for the PS3, will be released as a release title. Now will we be able to use our current GT4 saves on the new console or do we have to do the whole thing again once the PS3 and GT4 visions are eventually released?

Vision GT was a tech demo, not a game.

Viper Zero

Hmm Ok, well someone else on here metioned Gran Turismo 4 Visions. Well disregarding the name then what are the chances of us all being able to use our existing GT4 saves on the new version for the PS3?

My guess would be about the same as your chances of using your GT3 save in GT4.

One thing is for sure though. This is the first time I genuily believe there being a remote chance that GT5 / GT4 Visions will actually be a launch title for a new system. For instance, the whole photomode aspect of GT4 seems like a pre-development of the realtime rendering that we could see on the PS3, and when they collected the pictures and sound data for GT4 they clearly collected a lot more than they needed in order to cater for the next version. Also, the online aspect of GT4 looks to be very suitable for the new PS3 system that should have online at the core of its system.

I agree with you and I also think that this contributed to the delay and minor glitches of GT4. If they wanted a GT game for a launch title they needed to have started on it a while back. Perhaps the production team got split for the two games and the GT4 team was told it had to be finished by now so that it could be out long enough for fans to truly play through the game before GT5 on the PS3. It would explain the annoying bugs that slipped through and the delays.

Sony would probably had something to do with thi salso since the PS2 sales slowed down after the initial launch until GT3 came out. I know I didn't buy one until then. So Sony may have pressured PD to get into gear and have a launch title ready and GT4 had some acrifices made.

Just a theory though. However, it does sound like the crap I see going on at my office. Typical office politics.

Could be, although using the bugs in GT4 as evidence that it was rushed for GT5 isn't concrete IMO, since every GT game had bugs, GT3 actually felt a little unfinished to me.

Didn't PD already flat out say that there was another game expected to be released about a year after GT4? Pretty sure I remember that was right about the time they announced the dropping of online play with GT4.

Yeah they were talking about releasing an online version of GT4 later on this year, but not a peep about it since really so I'm not so sure they're planning to do so anymore.

Maybe the PS3 version will be the online release of GT4. All that extra power ought to be able to cope with the game online.

That's kind of what I was getting at. The game they were talking about was probably for PS3. Although at that time they obviously weren't going to come out and say it was for PS3.
