Your receiver has 2 optical and 1 coaxial digital input, same as my Pioneer. It will decode DTS just fine. Here's a quick, stripped down diagram of my PS2 setup and some things to note:
- I can't watch DVD's on my PS2 cuz the video is run thru my VCR and the copy protection kicks in. If I had another input on my TV, I'd run AV straight from PS2 to TV.
- Since I have composite AV (red/wht/ylw) from PS2 to VCR to TV, I don't have to use the receiver for audio. I can turn up the TV volume and throw a CD on the stereo if I want to. I could also record my PS2 action onto VHS if I ever felt the need to.
- Games without DTS will work fine and sound great through the digital input. If you have a regular DVD player plugged into the DVD input on the receiver, you can hook the PS2 to another source (AUX, TV, ???). You may have to tell your receiver what digital input to use for that source. Check the manual.
- Do NOT convert your AV Multi out to RF! RF is the devil, and should be avoided whenever possible.
Any more Q's, let me know!
