PS2 owners.. What are you playing ONLINE?

Since I was introduced to X-Box live around a year ago I haven't touched my PS2 for online games. I was just wondering if I am missing any fun games lately for the PS2 that the X-box doesnt have.
When it comes to online games, if it is available for both systems I generally buy it for the x-box. I view the threads but dont ever hear anyone talk about online gaming for PS2.
 
I bought a PS2 Logitech Headset at eBay last week, I'm just waiting for it to arrive so I can have fun online again. :)

Good exclusive online games these days.... Socom 3 is the best, I'm planning to get it soon. My friends say BF2 is awesome online, I might get it too. Although this is out for Xbox also I think. Jak X I played a few times online and it's pretty fun. Actually that's the game that made me buy the headset. It's a racing game with the Jak and Daxter crew but it has a lot of different online game modes like capture the flag, deathmatch and others. And of course I can't forget Ratchet: Deadlocked. I used to have a great time playing Up Your Arsenal online, so this one should be even better, this time they've build the game around the multiplayer mode and only after that they added the story.
 
I completely forgot about Socom 3!!! Socom 2 was a blast and I played that quite a bit when it first came out. I even made an entire video of just the Chicken victory dance when you killed someone. (I posted that video here a long time ago)
 
Yeah, I watched that video once. :lol:👍

And now it has vehicles and supports up to 32 players. :D By the way, BF2 supports 24 players, Jak X 6 and Ratchet: Deadlocked 10.
 
I'm still trying to find time to play Madden '06 online. I love that game, but I haven't played online yet. I tried to setup a game with JFM92_GTRacer a while back, but I ended up being too busy then too. Work sucks.
 
All I gotta say is Socom as referred already. If you liked Socom 2 online, multiply that by 100 and you get socom 3....The amount of people in the room is just amazing and the vehicles add a whole new aspect to it. Its a blast, but sadly if you want a friends list or to join a clan you need to verufy your account with a credit card. Sony says that you will never be charged, but for me, I don't have a credit card....
 
Yeah, Brazilians are having a hard time verifying their accounts, even with a credit card. There is only US and Canada options when signing in, so those who live in other countries have to come up with some fake adress in order to verify the account.

I've also read some complains of MasterCard owners, saying they couldn't register.

SOCOM 3 (for me) isn't fun as SOCOM II... I quit SOCOM and play BF2MC!

I rented Socom 3 last night. I played for at least 3 hours online and I have to agree with you. In my opinion it is not as fun as Socom 2. The most noticable difference are the graphics and gameplay. I know they had to make it comfortable to play up to 30 people online but the graphics really took a hit in the wrong direction. The vehicles are an absolute joke. They should have just left them out of the game. After playing games like Halo 2 and Far cry instincts, it is impossible to enjoy the vehicles in Socom 3. I have this for the rest of today and will probably try it out again but so far I am not satisfied with Socom 3.
 
Hmm, I guess I'll see if BF2 is good before getting Socom 3 then. They say its graphics are awesome.
 
Screw Socom 3. You guys have to play Battlefield 2: Modern Combat. One of the best FPS team playing games I have ever played. 👍 👍
 
I played it for the X-box but im sure it would be just as good for the PS2. Rent it I am sure you wont regret it if you have played any of the other FPS out there lately. 30 vehicles 70 weapons. Lots of awesome stradegy. I highly recommend this game. The controls are weird at first but once you get the hang of them its an incredible game.

I have Battlefield 2: Modern Combat. It is a very good FPS shooter! The single player is just fabulous, it's like Call of Duty in PC. The online is also impressive and less laggy than SOCOM 3 (the maps in BF2: MC are bigger than SOCOM 3).

Nope. BF2 owns all FPS. Except Maybe UT2004.

I play Killzone online on my PS2.

BF maps are bigger then s3?

worthless.. 90% of the maps on s3 are only good if its a full room.. 10 peopl + big map = lots of camping.
 
I bought Battlefield 2: Modern Combat for the xbox and it completely blew Socom 3 away. I heard it is even better for the PC. There is no comparison at all between Socom 3 and BF2:MC. Does Socom 3 even have a single helicopter you can fly?? Again, there really is no comparison at all. Way more weapons, more vehicles, more personal options like engineers, snipers, air strikes, helicopters and the list goes on...
I will let you guys argue about it. :sly:
 
what about single player? which is better? I am not playing online yet (don't have the adapter yet :grumpy: ). Based on online play i think bf2 sounds better, but i still want a good single player game to hone my killing skills. :sly: :trouble:
