Ps2 Plug In Into Tv Card?

you would need a S-Video to RCA convertor. I actually had wired one up, but it quit working and I've yet to figure out why. Radio Shack wants $20 (USD) for one, I'm sure you could find one cheaper on the net.

Your other option, is to get a video card with a RCA input.

You could get an adaptor and be right as rain, but there are other options to look at first. Can you take S-Video out of maybe a VCR or DVD Recorder? Then you can plug PS2's RCA's into the VCR, and S-Video from VCR to computer. That's always an option. Have a look at perhaps going from other devices as well... :)

OK, let's try this from a tech support angle.

First, are you sure it is a video in/out card and not just a tv-out card? It is odd to find this but they do exist.

What do the video-in plugs on your video card look like? If it looks the same as your TV then it should be self-explanatory. An S-video port does not stick out, but instead looks kind of like a serial port for the mouse or keyboard. RCA plugs usually stick up and are silver with a red, white,or yellow ring on them. The colored rings coordinate with the color of the plugs from your Playstation.

Now, what software are you running to try and watch your Playstation? On my old computer I used the video capture software ATI provided with the card. On my new Sony PC I use the Gigapocket recorder software. You cannot just plug it into the video-in ports and run it, you have to have a software program that recognizes the video signal. The free video capture software usually will work just fine.

Now, the more expensive monitors have Video-in ports too and those work much like a TV.

That's about all I can think to say about it.

By the way, this is how I play my PS2 so that I can get away from everyone and guarantee people won't step in front of me in order to do God knows what (water plants, organize the basket collection) or grab the remote and change channels. Apparently TLC and Lifetime are the screensaver for the TV because it keeps switching back to that without anyone asking first. :yuck:

Anyway, I know this works and if you have video ports on the front it makes life much easier.
