I've been neglecting the WRS the last couple of weeks, and spending most of the time I have going through GT4 (track selection is awesome). I am having two issues.

First, I run a 27" tube that has 480p/720p/1080i resolution. I like running GT4 in 1080i but every time I boot up GT4, the resolution is set at 480i, and I have to go in and manually change it. Is there a way to set up and save the resolution at 1080i without having to always set it up?

Second, under the video options, I noticed that there is a 4:3 or 16:9 setting. I have tried switching because I thought 16:9 was widescreen, but nothing happens when I change the settings. Anyone know what I can do to get it to be widescreen?

Thanks!

The only way is to go into the menu every time you want to play GT4. It won't save your settings no matter what, also the menus will always be in 480p. But when your racing it switches to which ever resolution you set it to. Hopefully this helps.

thanks!

Edit: Balocco, I have a 60gig ps3. I dunno, but that might make a difference.

You're lucky, I've been playing GT4 on my PS3 lately and I can never get 1080i to work.

The 16:9 aspect ratio is enforced when you select a 1080i resolution

Just wanted to update.... I found out that if I hit the zoom buttom on my TV, the picture fills up the whole screen, and very little is lost in the margins! :)

Is it possible to connect the ps2 to a monitor / laptop via hdmi ?

hdmi is a digital connection while composite/component are analog, therefore hdmi doesn't exist on PS2
