hi, i just logged on to psn and i got a message saying this;

Hi there i am Ken Shields and I work at Sony PS3 developments. It is coming up to the PS3's 4th birthday and for sony and all PSN users to celebrate we are offering $40 on the PSN store for anyone who spreads the news to all their freinds(including the person that sent you this message). Once you do this an alert message will come up on screen and tell you a unique code that will give you this money on the store. You had better act fast because this offer is only for this week so hurry

has anyone else had it?

I can pretty much assure you it's spam.

:odd:

I'm of the opinion that "if something sounds too good to be true..." And this falls into that particular bracket. A bit easy to 'earn' $40.

I got a similar message, and trust me, if it was really Sony, there would be a big set of legal terms and stuff at the bottom to ensure it was true. Even if someone did that and it wasn't Sony, I'm sure that is illegal.

So, no. It's too good to be true.

I would contact sony. Not to be sure, but to alert them to this spam.

Plus, Sony NEVER sends information via the PS3's message system.

I get all sorts of crap like this send to me, the best thing to do is block and report the person who sent it.

thanks guys, thought it was a little dodgey

Yes, just grief report them.

Just like the "Send this message to 4 friends or you will die" idea. It isn't true.

No I have not received this message, This is spam.
