My Ps3 got the YLOD and I have I still have my game in there. I have tried many things to get it out but none have worked so far.

I have a Fat 80GB (Motorstorm Bundle) 4 USB ports. B/C.

Is it possible to use tweezers or something similar to pull the disc out? Do you guys know of a good method to do this. Thank you.

I wouldn't recommend tweezers because if you have seen how the disk loading mechanism looks like from inside you will know its either going to be impossible or cause serious damage to the disk or the system.

If its an 80GB I take it its out of warranty, I would open it up and get the disk out that way. Just make sure you follow a guide to reset the loading mechanism afterwards (if your still going to keep the unit).

I don't know much about the workings of a playstation, but I know its a bad idea to force something that isn't meant to be forced. Your best bet is to take apart the PS3 and and take apart the disc drive carefully.

^^^ Yes I tried that and it didn't work that is one of the newer 80GB with 2 USB ports (Silver instead of chrome)

I guess I will have to take apart.

Robin mentioned something about resetting the loading mechanism I can't find anything online about that. Can't I just open it up and take the disc out?

Wrap tape around the ends of the tweezers to prevent the disc from getting scratches. Good luck getting your data off your old ps3. Dumb Sony encrypted all of the HDDs (mated to original console).

I backed up my gamesaves a week ago :). I'm very happy I took the extra time to do that.

I tried to use tweezers but I can't catch the disc. I need some extremely thin tweezers. Does anyone else have a similar idea?

Just wrap the ends of the tweezers with some kind of tiny soft cloth. My PS3 has some kind of black thing that opens when I insert a disc.

If you take out a disk manually you need to reset the mechanism otherwise it will not take disks in again, this video explains how to disassemble and reassemble the drive properly. I can tell you its not going to be possible to pull the disk out with tweezers.

There's also loads of articles and pictures about it online, I found that video in a few seconds and there are many others.

Robin.
