Ps3 flashing red light...HELP !!

Sorry if there's already a topic for this but yesterday I was playing gt and the console turned itself off. The red light kept blinking and I tried to turn it back on again and the same thing happened. I had only been playing gt5 for about 15 minutes when it switched off the first time so it surely can't be overheating problem.

Can anyone tell me what the problem is and should I bother trying to get a new console ?

There are lots of videos on Youtube to fix it yourself. If it's under waranty return it or else think twice about what you're going to do with it.

Usually a flashing red light means YLOD_ Ring Sony and see what they can do or buy a new PS3
