I want to make a GT5 video but I can't do it on my own because my parents won't let me get the HD PVR screen recorder :(.

Do any of you know a GOOD CHEAP screen recorder for the PS3?

For now I am going to send the replays to "Alex p" to record them for me!

Thank you Alex p and all of you who help me :D.

Edit: The prize range I am looking at is about £5-£20.

Please ignore this reply, I'm doing this so I can easily access the thread on my iPod touch application. I too am interested in a screen recorder for a multiple of games, one of course being GT5. Being an unemployed student means I don't have a lot of room to maneuver in the cash department, so this thread is also of use to me.

Easycap....

If you have a mac, all the better as there's an EasyCap Viewer and that works so much better than that ULead Studio that comes with the thing.

I have been using a Dazzle 80 for all of my videos for at least 7-8 years without a single problem. You can get a Dazzle 80 on ebay for about $20.00 or just go to the store and buy a new one. Very easy to use.

I have a mac but I can't plug my PS3 in because my parents go on it :(

I too use an 'I object'. You just click the arrow at the top right, instead of clicking 'Reply', click the 'Subscribe' button instead. Then you can keep an eye on a thread and not have to post until your ready. 👍

Edit: Treed. So another 👍 is in order.

I have one of these, but with s-video. Bought at Best Buy for $50 I believe. Haven't fully tested it as my only computer at the moment at home is a netbook, which doesn't like to record, let alone play video.

Do you need to record it on the computer then?

You need a computer for the HD PVR too.

The only one I know of that doesn't require a PC and is stand alone is the Pinnacle Video Transfer, but it doesn't seem to be available anymore. It records direct to a USB stick.

Also, anything mentioned on this page, with the exception of the HD PVR, can't record in HD resolutions so a recording of a GT5 replay isn't going to look as good as it should.

In my experience, good and cheap are mutually exclusive in this instance. You can get good. You can get cheap. You can't get both.

Only way to do it properly is to:

A: Save money to buy an el cheapo computer (I mean dirt cheap, $400 worth or less) and use one of the previous recommendations

B: Stand up to your parents and tell them you need the computer for something, and that they should let you have a little more leeway with it.

Depends on the quality you are looking for. Not everyone needs HD video, and using the above devices is surely better than recording from a cell phone.

👍 That is what I mean. I want it so I don't loose quality that much. I have a iPod with a camera and I have a cam corder but I still loose a lot of quality.

Like I said. You're going to get now where unless you save up for a computer, or tell your parents that you need the computer and to rack off for a while, give you some leg room.

I'll admit it, I've been pretty spoiled in my life (as far as computing etc is concerned), maybe it's just that talking, but I don't see how they can keep it from you that much. That's just controlling and rude on their part.
