As an aside... someone had mentioned apple devices... anything that is not a "Mac" WILL, in fact, mess with network connections. They have improved profoundly but they still don't adhere to networking standards pertaining to Standards (wireless-N, wireless-G, etc.).. Before someone writes a response saying, "but my IPhone/IPad etc. works!" It will work and always has, however, said devices' interactions with other devices on the same network CAN BE abnormal. As suggested wiring your PS3 is recommended especially on mixed-state networks. Furthermore, the PS3 is not wireless-N and most Wireless routers have trouble with switching standards, especially auto-switching (remember all of those who couldn't figure out why they would get drops or "can't sign on..." to wireless-N networks with the PS3, a wireless-G device). Keep in mind the wireless-N standard was finalized shortly after the most recent PS3 refresh, thus, although the slim is still wireless-g, because of the fact that the wireless-N "standard" was not finalized until recently, and because of Sony and Apple's propriety tenancies, incompatibilities cannot be as thoroughly accounted for and fixed...
The moral of the story is, if at all possible use wired connections on as many devices as possible. If you cannot wire all devices creating a separate vlan for those devices who are especially bandwidth hungry or temperamental and see if that helps (you can use a second router if need be). For instance, my network looks like this:

Cable internet
|
modem
\
\
\
\
switch (with 1000base-t ports)
/ | \
/ | \
wireless g Wireless n Auto-sensing switch
| | |
(Apple "devices") Laptops with PS3
(2nd PS3 for media) wireless-N Xbrick 360
anything else that is bandwidth hungry that has an ethernet port

i need to remake the diagram but u get the picture...
