Is your PS3 in a closed off space if not you'll have to send it into Sony or find a game repair shop.

Seems to me that you are about to yellow Light. There are self fixes for that sort of problem, which are common on 40 GB models of PS3s, but I would recommend that you send it into Sony. Since that you are out of warranty, most likely, be prepared to shell out in your currency the equivalent of $150 to get your problem fixed.

This is why I always advocate extending your warranty.

Did you change the thermal paste underneath the IHS - the metal heat spreader. If the thermal paste underneath IHS are in bad condition, replacing the thermal paste above the IHS is pretty much useless. My YLOD PS3 has dried up thermal paste underneath IHS, the metal IHS is quite tricky to remove - GPU side - stuck on GPU + RAM chips, while CPU is tightly glued, best to try remove them when PS3 is hot. Look for Youtube tutorial videos.

Did you install the PS3 update 4.45? It seems to crash a lot PS3's according to people on the IGN articles.

i'll start to do this !
thanks for the good answer!!

Don't run it with the case off, the case is designed to help the airflow around vital components. Unless you have a fan blowing on all surfaces it's generally not a good idea.

One thing I would suggest, if you haven't already done it, is to use a can of compressed air to clear the dust out from the gaps in the radiator, that's the array of thin metal fins that the PS3's fan blows air through. Dust building up there will reduce the surface area of the radiator - and insulate it quite nicely - which does bad things to the heat transfer efficiency. You want that part to be as clean as possible, but the shimming and thermal paste between C/GPU and heat sink are essential too. Also make sure the fan is spotless to be sure that's working as best it can, dust on the fan will disturb the airflow through it and it won't work to spec.
