PS3 Problem

Hi all,

My little brother was just playing Plants Vs Zombies and the PS3 shut off. He turned it back on again and there is 3 red blinking lights.

Did the fan test, turned it back off, managed to get Just Cause 2 out (the game which was in at the time of the problem).

And now the lights gone yellow

It's a 40GB PS3 which we've had since Christmas of launch year. Is there any chance I can get my data back up????

I get what he means, my brother's PS3 just YLOD'd the other day and he's worried that if he tries to fix it he'll break it even more and then there'll be no chance of copying his saves off, but I'm trying to convince him that if he never tries to fix it he'll never get them back anyway. I might just try and fix it anyway while he's at Uni, no point just throwing it away.

If you're that worried, take it to someone who knows what they're doing. They'll have better tools and more experience.
