PS3 Question

Well, I'd recommend doing a search, as we've had many threads on this already.

Anyway, the only thing different between the current 80GB and 40GB is HDD size, as no models feature Backwards Compatibility, unless you were to get a slightly older 80 or 60. All current models also only feature 2 USB ports and the card readers have been taken out.

Also, I see you are in Athens, the Wal-Mart in Monroe had 2 80GB Metal Gear Solid 4 bundles (Which do feature Backwards Compatibility, card readers, and 4 USB ports) last time I checked, which was around 2 weeks ago.

From,
Chris.

If all you want to use it for is PS3 games, PS1 games, DVD's and Blu-Rays then the 40GB or new 80GB will be fine.

As said above the differences between the 40GB/new 80GB and the old 80GB/60GB is lack of PS2 backwards compatability (PS1 games still work), lack of memory card readers and only 2 USB ports instead of 4.

As for the HDD, its a normal laptop HDD which can be changed at any time WITHOUT voiding any warranty. Even the manual tells you how to change the HDD!

I currently have a 320GB HDD in my PS3 which started life as a 60GB UK PS3.

The only thing is that the 40GB HDD might fill up quite quick with game installs, etc. The GT5p install alone is almost 6GB! If you dont fancy changing the HDD for a really big one right away then get one of the new 80GB PS3's so that you wont need to upgrade your HDD for a while.
