Is there any indication if the dfgt and other logitec wheels will ever work for PS4? I am considering purchasing a PS4 and have enjoyed Grand Turismo over the years all the way back to the PS1 but I'm getting tired of all the waiting and all this incompatibility nonsense.

I'm actually considering selling the dfgt, trading the ps3 and giving the xbox one a go with Forza Horizons.

It's not looking good, there's a thread on this on here somewhere, the consensus is ps4 will only support thrustmaster wheels. I'm interested where Grand Turismo 7 will figure in this because the dfgt is for their game after all and they've always been very good with backwards compatibility.

Actually not going to bother with new console just now, I'll maybe wait and go pre-owned later in year. There does seem hints of ways of making other wheels work but I'm not that serious a gamer to get embroiled with messing with stuff.

As stated it looks like the DFGT wont work although there is some talk that the top end logitech wheels might get support at a later date but dont hold your breath on the DFGT.

Eh, I couldn't find the link, but I believe it was eurogamer who brought to light the fact that the current Logitech wheels do not contain a specific chip to allow them to communicate with next gen consoles.

Though some might point to the fact the T500RS works without said chip, it has been stated that drivers were installed via Sony to allow the use of said wheel, which brings up the whole Thrustmaster conspiracy theory.

Furthermore, and I'll part. Logitech has stated on numerous occasions that they will no longer support or develop game controllers of any type, including wheels.

So with that said, you're better off forgoing the ps4, and instead buying a PC so you can keep your wheel, and really get your sim on.

thanks for the replies, as far as i can understand they want to force us to buy new wheels.....don't think so...

I don't think that's the reason at all, but nothing is stopping you from believing that. At some point in time you will be forced to buy a new wheel if you want to continue to use one. No accessory lasts forever.

unfortunatelly everything after a period of time it stops working, for example.. when my wheel will stop work then yes i'm going to buy a new one and probably better than the one i had, BUT to buy a wheel and have two in my house i think is too much... No worries GT6 still working perfectly... and why i m sayng that they want to make us buy new wheels because T500 (previous gen consomles) is working at PS4

That makes no sense. Who is trying to make you buy a new wheel when the T500RS works on the PS4? In case you haven't noticed, Logitech hasn't released an updated wheel in years. It should come of no surprise that maybe Logitech is at fault since they are likely getting out of the wheel business in the near future.

my friend, i have dfgt, dfgt is not compatible with PS4 same with all logitech, fanatec, madcatz wheels, so what remains???only thrustmaster. every one that not have a thrustmaster wheel will have to buy a new wheel if he wants to play racing games with a wheel, as far as i can understand the majority of the players have logitech wheels e.g. G27 (maybe i m wrong)
conclusion: if i want to play racing games in ps4 HAVE TO buy a second wheel that i was not planing to buy at this time...

anyway my question at this thread is if the dfgt will ever work on ps4 thats all

Yes, you will have to buy a new wheel to play on the PS4, you have a very outdated Logitech wheel which will never be supported on PS4. Don't place blame at Sony, blame Logitech in this case. Thrustmaster did what they had to do to get their wheels going on PS4, Logitech did not. Fanatec is working on it. Mad Catz shouldn't even be in the discussion.

Maybe I don't understand your complaint but it appears you're trying to place blame that your wheel doesn't work and I thought that blame was directed at Sony but I have no idea who you're blaming at this point because your posts don't make a lot of sense. I'm assuming at this point English isn't your first language and you're having trouble explaining your thoughts but I do understand that you WILL have to buy another wheel to play on PS4 but that was already well known before you created this thread.

If the top end Logitech wheels do get support then maybe all the lower end ones will work, seeing as all the older Thrustmaster wheels still work on PS4.

ok ignore the comment about the blame think. the only think i can say about it is that i m blaming both Sony and Logitech (more logitech) thats why i putted they. according to the threads/articles i read no one says something clear

regarding the thread i m saying again that this thread was made because i wanted to know if someone heard or read somehing about the logitech wheels (dfgt), if they are going to be compatible etc.

if the dfgt is outdated? i can tell you that it works at the latest computers
i'm not telling its a best wheel but also i can not understand why every 3-5 year we have to buy a new wheel because its outdated the old one.

about my english yes it's not my first language and i m sorry for the misunderstanding.

anyway, if i wanted to buy a new good wheel at this time i would have to pay around 400 euros and is an expense that i didn't have in mind.

https://www.change.org/p/sony-add-logitech-and-fanatec-wheel-support-to-ps4

Edit: This petition has been edited to include Fanatec wheels as well as Logitech.

So many true racing game fans own a Logitech wheel for use with such games because they make the best wheels out there. We have become accustomed to using those wheels with racing games and going back to playing one with just a normal controller is next to pointless if we want a legitimate feeling experience. Also there are many other gamers who in much the same way have grown accustomed to using Fanatec wheels with their racing titles.

The next gen consoles provide the potential for even more immersive racing/driving experiences which excited us all during the lead up to their releases but now we are in a situation where Sony have yet to add Logitech wheel support to the PS4 after the PS3 was the only console to have such support and Fanatec wheels are not yet supported either. As time goes on Sony have remained silent on the subject despite the upcoming release of 2 racing games that would suit the Logitech/Fanatec wheels down to the ground: DriveClub and Project Cars.

Edit: The Project Cars developers have since released a list of supported wheels for each platform which can be found here...

http://www.gamepur.com/news/15449-p...c-ps4-and-xbox-one-revealed-game-vs-real.html

As you can see both the Logitech and Fanatec wheels are to be supported on PC. That coupled with the desire expressed by the DriveClub developers to be able to support all brands of wheels proves that the decision whether to support these peripherals is in Sony's court as the console manufacturer and not down to the game developers. They clearly want to support all the available wheels but are held back from doing so when it comes to the Sony platforms.

Update: To back up the above assumption one of our supporters has sent us an email response he received from Logitech Netherlands concerning the G27 (translated using Google translate). It states, and I quote...

"The wheel works with HID drivers which can be found on the PS3 console port, so we expect the same driver implementation on the current successor. It's on the game console developers (Sony) to check their driver support will provide for external wheel controllers, or to work in a timely manner."

This just proves further that the ball is in Sony's court, there is no passing the buck to game developers or Logitech themselves. It also goes to show that the fact Logitech are no longer making new peripherals for consoles does not mean that they are dropping support for their current accessories. It should be easy and cheap to add support for their existing products into the PS4 architecture and Logitech are not stopping Sony from doing so.

Again going by the above Project Cars link Sony seem to only be supporting wheels provided by Thrustmaster hinting at the possibility of a deal between the 2 companies. This is the only remaining possible explanation for the PS4's lack of wheel support for other brands. This must seem to them to be of financial benefit but will prove to be the opposite for those of us who already own wheels that will not be supported, not to mention the inferiority of Thrustmaster when compared to Logitech and Fanatec. Sony seem to be well aware of the importance of keeping their customer base happy so we hope they will realise the negative impact this restriction could have on their currently great reputation. With that being said it could even back fire for them financially because as you can see from the comments on this very petition, there are many gamers out there that would dearly love to purchase a PS4 but have decided against it due to the lack of wheel support. That is of course a huge shame because the console is so excellent in every other way.

We don't want to have to buy a new wheel, especially as it will never be as good as the ones we currently own. We don't want to be left with a very expensive but ultimately useless piece of leather and plastic. Thus I implore you to show Sony how important it is to us that we are able to use our high quality wheels on the PS4 to get the most out of the games they are working so hard on. We ask Sony to continue their so far impressive gamer focused approach by implementing this change, and hence winning over a lot of potential new customers as well as pleasing all of us long term loyal fans. Please sign the petition...

hi guys

find bellow answer from logitech customer service :(

"At this point we do not have any information about Playstation 4 compatibility. We know many of our customers is asking about this but with the information I have, I would have say that it will not happen in a near future, if ever."
