I am confused... How is this good for wheel owners? It is good for people who want to use the ps4 controller on the pc.... but what does this have to do with wheels?

Yeah, not exactly lining up with whats in the article, however, its cool that the ds4 will be "native" on a pc, and not need that crap app like you do for the ds3.

it means PS4 peripherals are deigned with some PC compatibility, one can infer that there is good chance that current PC compatible wheels may work with PS4

What about the Xbox 360? The 360 controller works perfectly with Windows, but PC wheels don't work at all with the 360.

Yeah, that assumption is not necessarily true. Just throwing it out there. Check out Neema's post too.

Also, a lot of generic PC devices (including controllers) already did work with the PS3 (especially when the system first launched) meaning the PS3 would accept them and read their inputs; but that didn't mean that they worked with any games.

That's what I love about the PS3. Let's hope the PS4 continues in its footsteps in this regard.

I have an old Microsoft Sidewinder joystick from Windows 98 times, I tried using it for one of the Sturmovik games and it actually worked... somewhat. All the axes and buttons were recognized, but everything was scrambled -- the joystick throttle controlled yaw, the buttons were all over the place but everything worked. Of course, the game wouldn't let you do custom assignments for buttons or axes, so it was a no-go.
