My experience 8 hours in is that GT Sport is a much nicer looking game on PS4 Pro than GT7 is on the same machine. Of course there are other things going on in GT7 such as dynamic weather and time of day, and much improved physics and a bigger game overall so it’s obvious to me that something had to take a hit, and it was the graphics. I’m hoping that GT7 on PS5 looks better than GT Sport on PS4 Pro, confident it will because I have heard and read so many reviewers and gamers praising how beautiful it looks on PS5.

I orignally had a stock PS4 . When GT7 got a confirmed date for release I bought a PS4 Pro and a 2TB SSD .
The process of swapping over was way simplier than I expected so my GT Sport was done in 10 mins .

Fast forward to my first impressions with GT Sport on a 4K TV ...........Holy Hell .

Then onto GT7 .................Ok I think I may need to recalulate how I felt about GT SPort because this it ******g Epic now .

I’ve noticed the standard PS4 stutters quite a bit when there’s a lot of cars on track, it’s not terrible but very noticeable. On the Pro I’ve only seen it drop frames or stutter a couple of times running in 1080p but in 4k the stutters are more frequent.

In GT Sport there is a noticeable jump in car model details as you get closer, things like number plates, vents noticeably pop in. In GT7 there is no noticeable jump on model detail, it looks a bit more fuzzy because I guess there is less or no antialiasing.

I’m not entirely sure but I think the Pro might have motion blur applied when in 1080, doesn’t seem to do it in 4k.

It's amazingly different. It's close only to the layman's eyes.

Much better shadows, draw distance, AO, AF, much more detail on the environment, much more trees, 2d vs 3D trees on tracks like Trial Mountain, much better reflections, much better shading, real time motion blur, it's pushing 3x more pixels (4K vs 1800CB), Car LOD is at the highest on PS5 and much lower on the PRO (think about the low-poly wheel archs and exhausts).

Check Digital Foundry if you can't see it for yourself, I tested both versions side by side in my setup. GT7 on PS5 looks like a dream, it basically looks like what your mind remembers from any GT game (rose tinted glasses)
