Initially I was gutted that PS4 charged for online gaming, but the online fee does give you free games each month - which lessoons the blow of a £40 yearly fee.

Its 53,66 and not 40 in the PS store (just checked).

that made me look.. yep UK is now £49.99. Lucky mine renews early July so I missed this years hike.

Just keep an eye out for discounts on PSN cards. Does not happen that often anymore. But I bought 3x €50 cards for €40 euro each.
Then wait for some PSN Plus discount where you get additional months for free. 12 months + 3 or 4 months happends every now en then.
Bought 3 times one with 4 months extra so got 4 years of "PSN Plus" for not even the price of 3 years.
Normally (with the old price it's €60 now) 12 months would cost €50 is €4,16 a month.
I paid €120 for 4 years is 12 months for €30 is €2.50 a month.

I'm from the EU and we could probably save even more by looking for US PSN cards and buying/activating PSN Plus on a US account.
PSN US Account costs 59.99 USD with the current currency is 51.15 EUR which already saves €8.84.
Officially you are not completely allowed to do this but it's possible ;-)
(I bought the digital deluxe version of Destiny 2 this way. Which was €109 and I paid €80 still a waste of money though ;-))

You also sometimes get codes for PSN Plus with games where you sometimes get 1 or 3 months for free. Those mostly work on account where no PSN has been activated on. So if your PSN Plus has almost ended, wait for it too end then create a new PSN account on your system and use that code to activate it. Once that plus period has ended just delete the dummy account.
* You can still play with your own account as long as there is a primary activated account with psn plus on your system.

Yeah, some of the free games are really good and some are niche games that didn't sell well. Out of all the free games last year I got about 4 that I really played a lot.

Also, a lot of people are complaining that you have to buy psplus for this game but that is just a reality of gaming in 2017. Forza 7 and Project Cars 2 both require PSplus and Xbox live respectively to play online.

I share acounts with a friend by activating his account as primary. Every digital game we own we can both play and we only need 1 ps plus subscription so saves 50% on games and plus.

On multiple ps4's?

Yeah that's a good way to save money too. Especially if you also get some discounts and stuff ;-)

Yeap,thats the way it "works".

That's just the thing. That's not the way it works, at least not for me. That's why I am trying to clarify. My son had PSplus on our ps4 and as soon as he moved and put his psplus primary on another machine I lost access to all the digital games he had bought and was left with only my own. Something is not adding up.

His ps4 account has to be activated as primary on your ps4 and he can just use it on his own system to play on but without setting it as primary.
I think it works like that.

£39.79 at cdkeys.com, and if you like their facebook page you get 5% off that.
