They were probably too busy playing online on their PlayStations and Xboxes.

Oh well. Wanted to finish something online but I can deal with not playing. It's funny though for two reasons:
1. They waited to attack after Xmas and New Year's.
2. Sony's network is still held together by duct tape and patched cables, it seems.

IIRC, it's sorta impossible to protect against them.

Hard? Yes. Impossible? No. There are ways to make it a lot harder.

It was odd yes. Since I got logged on the PS3 too. (However I think I know why)
Since it said it was Maintenance if you were logged in before such day you will be able to log in just not be able to do much. While on the PS4 everything is connected to the network it wouldn't work.

Live was also having issues yesterday so a DDOS possibly makes sense. Because Christmas went surprisingly well this year. Maybe now they are making up for it.
