Good evening, morning, day everyone.

I own a pair of Turtle beach PX22. It works well and has been a good headset.. A couple days ago I decided to switch the headset from my PS3 to my Windows 8 PC. It plugged in and worked without doing anything. Then i started to notice ambient sound would not play properly through the device. Ive spent hours coming the internet looking for a solution. The turtle beach website only has setup and troubleshooting for windows 7 and their forums have over 2 week wait time to get anything approved for posting. (I already submitted something there..) and their customer support page keeps telling me 'Failed to send' with no explanation as to why.

Please. If someone knows how to fix this, or even where a better place to go would be, please let me know.

Without really knowing enough about your setup, my guess is that your pc's sound card is not sending out a surround signal.

HP Envy Pheonix... I am not 100% computer suave though, theres probably more too it that you need to know.. What do you need to know.

I looks like the weak point is the PX22 inline amp, as it's doing virtual surround but only via stereo input. A Turtle Beach DSS uses an optical cable, which will receive a surround sound signal and convert it to virtual surround. The sound card in your pc looks like it has optical output. Would it be worth buying one of those? I think they're around $30. It would improve sound for both pc and PS3.

Otherwise, is it possible that your pc is outputting surround sound but that you are only getting two channels of that? Maybe you need to manually set the output to stereo.
