I have a small problem with my '84 Honda fourtrax 250 quad

Its still in good shape and runs fine, until it gets late at night.

For some reason it will not start at a certain time of the night, I know this sounds crazy, but it runs fine till about 10:30 to 11pm at night and then it will not start till the next day. The weather is around 70-80F and the humidity is fairly low (below 30%) and the air density is around 100%

It has an electric stat, but something went wrong with it about a year ago. So, im left to kick starting it

I'm really confused, does anyone know whats up?

Something with the air/fuel ratio maybe or the carb. I don't know much about quads so I really can't help you.

Get all the old gas out; drain the tank and also remove and clean the carburetor float bowl(s). Put fresh oil in where required. Remove spark plug(s). Pour SMALL amount of oil into cylinder(s). Pull starter rope several times. Install new spark plug(s). Put fresh gas in tank. Install new battery. (Or charge existing one.)

Also try rocking the bike back and forth in gear. Pb blaster works good. Do everything gently or you could bust the rings and vales out.

Hope some of this may be useful to you.

Sounds like its cursed.

A quick witch hunt with your buddy's should end your troubles. If none are around, look for anyone sticking pins into a voodoo doll with one of your old spark plugs attached to it and destroy either them or the doll and it'll be running normal again in no time. 👍

That was my first thing that came to my mind

...

Ill try putting a new plug in. Its a 250cc single, air cooled

I also forgot to mention that we do sometimes run 2 stoke gas mixed at 32:1 in it, but never a full tank of it.
