What is it that makes people so ridiculously irrational in qualifying? The brain out approach to pushing, shoving and barging is ridiculous. You leave a gap to get a clean run and there's a fair chance you're getting rammed. You wait for everyone else to go and then catch up with my absolute favourite, the "I've screwed my own lap up so now I'm going to spoil yours, too" mob. FFS.

SR is scored in quali but clearly not enough. Get a grip, people!

I often see that, people who went off track/spun and get right back on the racing line as if they're going to save the lap. People need to work on situational awareness and leaving a gap, especially if cars are coming up on you, get out of the way.

Part of the problem is because of a forced qualify run, due to time limits on longer courses.

the out lap hurts the ability to create space for a good run if you wait or run up to others that clearly are newer to the game, young players, or dumb aggressive types it kills a whole lap but everyone has same issue that takes it more serious.

Not sure how to fix it though don't want to qualify for to long already takes an hour for FIA race.

Was thinking of letting qualify start in groups every 5 sec four cars pit out to separate the field on the out lap.. And extend to 12min qualify session for maybe 1 more lap that counts

I agree. This evening for example a recovering player kept his foot down around the next corner, keeping the inside line. I overtook him before he tried barging his way past again at the next hairpin, ruining my reasonable lap and further setting his time back. Pointless, stupid, irresponsible and frustrating. He gained absolutely nothing but I suppose he thinks that’s my lap ruined may as well slow others down so I can beat them easily on my next lap...

Oh, yes. Those are good ones, especially if they can ruin your current lap and your next one by doing you at the last corner.

I wait for about a minute before I even leave the pits. Normally this means sacrificing a lap, but it makes it more likely that I'll get at least one good lap in. Doesn't always work, especially when people start falling off the track, but luck is part of qualifying too (see any f1 qualifying session).

Yesterday, some Aussie guy in a white 458 careened into the wall at Alsace during the qualifier, then decided to blame another driver for his mistake in the in-game chat, even though the 458 driver qualified within the top 10 for that race already.

The salt is real.

I had some right clowns the other day, ruined both my flyers... Anyway I qualified last, after ten hard fought laps I was first. The other drivers were rubbish, of course, but still last to 1st was pretty good.
