Qualifying times question....

Hi,

Probably because advanced muppetry strikes me once again, I cannot for the life in me, work this out....

If I qualify with a time of, for example: 1.15.22. This might place me on the grid in 6th place against 15 other players.

In a race, against 15 players, I improve my best time to 1.14.81.

In the next race, against the same 15 players, none of whom manage a faster lap than their best Q time - would the system place me nearer the front of the grid?
IE 5th or 4th.

If I'm understanding right you are asking if laptimes during a race count as qualifying laps

If that's the case then, no, as laps during a race can be influenced by other factor most notably slipstream.

Only laps set in actual qualifying count as qualifying laps

I could have sworn I got a faster lap time during a race that bumped my qualifying time yesterday.

Nope, only Q laps count unfortunately.
