Question about buying GT6

Hello all :)

I appologize if this is the wrong place to ask this question, wasn't too sure where else to put it.

So anyway, I have this friend that lives overseas (I live in America and he lives in Finland). I want to buy GT6 for him as a birthday present, but I'm not sure how I should go about doing this, if it's possible.
Could I send him a copy of the game through Amazon? Could I purchase a download code, and just give my friend the code? Please let me know the best way to go about doing this.
I would greatly appreciate the help.
 
I would say that it would be more safe to go with the hard copy (the digital download has some download problems), and sending him a code could be a little insecure... I guess it depends on how difficult it would be for you to mail a physical copy!

So I could buy the game on Amazon and have it shipped to him? Would the game work on his PS3 since it's coming from the American Amazon store?

That's a good question actually. Unfortunately, i am unsure. Anyone else know?
 
No you'd have to get the PAL version. The only way to for him to use the North American version is for him to make a North American PSN account.
 
You want the digital download because it will not wear out the laser on his PS3.
How you go about buying it for someone else I have no idea. I would suggest contacting the Playstation store or Sony

Umm... Why would that be an issue? I mean, of course its bad that the laser could 'wear out', but the PS3, and most other consoles, are designed to play discs. Why would a disc make a conceivable impact on the thing? And also, the digital download is more likely to fail to download 1.13...

I'm not trying to hostile, but i don't think that'a an overly valid point. :indiff:

There have been several people moaning about the laser or disc reading troubles. If its all on the hard drive its also accessed quicker. Who says its more likely to fail I certainly have had no issues, it could be due to many things if people are having update issues.
 
@Wide Boy if you dont have problems with the digital download, and i dont have a problem with the physical copy, and you have heard complaints about the disc reader (which is probably unrelated to GT6 but oh well), and i have heard complaints about downloading 1.13 on the digital version, they are both probably as likely to fail in some regard.
 
If he's in Finland, then he needs to get "European" version of the game. Most ideally, just send him money. Tell him how freakin' amazing GT6 is so he buys it instead of something else....and if it turns out he hates it??

Not sure if you can gift PSN credits to a friend; it's worth a look. With a physical copy, his PS3 won't play North American copy because of region locking. I tried out this with a different game ages ago so yeah, it doesn't work.
 
I can purchase a download code from Amazon. Would I be able to give him the code after I get it?
