Question about different coloured GT2 discs

I had an original PAL copy of GT2, pretty much since new which had platinum discs. Sadly i lost the discs to that copy some 10 odd years ago .

Thankfully, about 5 years ago i managed to buy a completely immaculate copy of GT2 in a charity shop . Although unlike my original copy it had the well known red arcade and blue GT mode discs instead.

Anyway, long story short, I've always been curious if there was any differences between the discs, whether they were different game versions or not. Certainly haven't noticed any in game differences (yet) like any of the infamous glitches such as the garage bug since I've been playing recently.

No differences at all. Platinum is just a re-release for games that got popular. Like an award.

The Playstation Platinum release is guaranteed to not be the 1.0 release which had the garage bug. The very earliest copies of the game, mainly in NA I think, had that problem.

I noticed that, as i wondered why I never saw a version 1.0 or 1.1 PAL copy of GT2. Not that I'm complaining of course considering they had the infamous garage bug
