I was watching a video on youtube, from about december 2009 I think, and its of this guy turning his G27 and it makes a clunk, and apparantly its the motor shafts or something coming loose. Apart from this video, I have not seen or heard of this problem. Seeing as my DFGT never did it andI just ordered a G27, have logitech sorted this problem or does anyone else get this problem?, seeing as it was from close to when it came out, does this still happen?

Bit of a jumbled post but thanks in advance.

I bought a G27 around December 2010 and I can say it does clunk every now and then during violent FFB. Its more or a hollow sounding clunk and not like a metal to metal clanking so I'm not worried.

From what I have read it is the motor shafts moving. The helical gears create the movement which pushes and pulls the shafts inside the motors and the clunk is the shafts hitting the stoppers inside the mounts.

Rally is really bad for it and hitting big ripple strips makes it do it also. I am not concerned when my G27 does it but it is quite loud.

So it doesn't do it all the time only when rallying and going over curbs?

No. Only when doing drastic sudden turns or when you get the car in midair and FFB counter steers. As one of the poster said it is like the steering is hitting the stopper. It is a great wheel and imo for any casual gamer the G27 is the perfect wheel.

sorry, i should have explained better. It does not do it all the time, but as others say, its not that big of a concern. It's just noise.

Thank you very much for all your answers, I got my G27 on saturday and its amazing. Helpful people on this website. :)
