Hello!

In adition to a GT500 league, I am taking part in a GT300 league. We use the Arta Garaya, Amemya Asparadrink, Weds Sports Lexus and the Cusco Dunlop Subaru, all with 350hp and 1.1150kg.

Even though the GT300 cars are supposed to be in the same league, we have noticed after 2 races that the Arta Garaya is much faster than the other cars, and the Cusco Dunlop much slower.

I am driving the lexus and the next race is at Indianapolis Road Course, but during testing my car is 1.2s slower no matter what I do to the setup. The Arta is faster specially in the long straight by more than 10kph. If I reduce downforce, there's no significant increase in top speed and I lose too much grip at the infield section, even if I lower the car...

My question is: is there anything I could do, setup-wise, to make my car faster on the straight while keeping as much cornering grip as possible, or are doing something wrong in the series, by keeping all cars with the same hp and weight??

Eh…two things.

1. Online means that lowering the car reduces grip and raising it increases grip (essentially), so lowering it doesn't help much.

2. The Lexus is the slowest car of the GT300 lot, apparently. So not to be rude, but you've pretty much screwed it up at the start. :lol: I'm going to guess, but the most you could do is get to around average pace of a Garaiya with a really good setup for the Lexus.

I've no idea about any of the GT cars, I'm an old man and they make my palms sweat, so I'd bow to the Boy's knowledge. If you've picked a duffer, then you're done.

The only thing I can think of to help you out is the transmission. I've been in a few online races recently, with near identical cars and some people are by far faster on the straights than others. In fact at least one car was significantly fast enough that even with draft, others were unable to keep up.

I don't know how to make fast transmissions, so maybe someone will come along to help you out...

I didn't know about that...You mean that I'm actually making my car worst by lowering it?
isn't this issue fixed with the 2.08 patch?

I feel more comfortable with a lower height, unless it's slammed/too low.

@OP
Having rear lower than front increases speed on the straight; if it makes you slower around corners.... not as long as it doesn't oversteer too much.

Eh, it was heavily debated in the 2.08 update thread…but long story short (and we're talking a 2 to 3 page, heavy on info story), not really. And the gearbox might need some work as well, though if it makes any kind of difference in this case, I don't know.
