Hi, I have a question, I've been playing GT5 since it came out (Standard Edition), but I'm planning to buy the collectors edition, Will I have problems?, I mean, with the DLC cars and the DLC I've bought (SPA and Kart). The copy is 100% brand new and sealed. I hope you can help me out. Thanks!

In theory it should work exactly the same. Its basically the same disk but the box has some extras in it.

I have the collectors edition and all purchasable DLC and it works just fine. Buy it.

Just too add to what was already said. Make sure your Collectors Edition is from the same region as your original game disc to avoid any DLC/game save issues. Lots of the cheaper Collector Edition discs are from Hong Kong. I can't see your location, but I've seen American collector editions going for upwards of $150 compared to $50 for a Hong Kong disc.

I recently bought the collectors edition. Still got all my dlc. Planning on getting the sig edition as well

Something that you will want to watch out for is that if you do purchase another version of GT5 (regional-wise), then you will have to install another 8GB of installation files to your PS3. This can be quite heavy on your HDD if you haven't upgraded it or isn't really durable, but for the record, Sony's selection of HDDs for the PS3 has relatively had a great track record in terms of durability.

It's a shame how versions couldn't share the same game data. Then again, the developers never intended players to have multiple copies of the same game. Still, I frown upon that nonetheless...

@elston87

The 8GB installiation is recommended but not necessary. In fact some people claim that the install actually hurts your speed. https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=218435&highlight=install+data

From my own experience my original account with the 8GB install, filled with 1950 cars and 7000 items loads slower than my 2nd account with no 8GB install and about 60 cars and only a few hundred items. Now whether the slow loading time is caused by the maxed out cars and items is another disscussion, but I honestly do not notice any faster loading times while playing with my account with no 8GB install.

From my understanding of the OP he wants to match the disk region to his existing save file because he doesn't want to start over. So he actually has nothing to worry about.

EDIT: If you want to install the game data, then it will require another 8GB. I actually never implied that you had to...

FORGOT TO HIT THE EDIT BUTTON. :ouch: :dopey:

First of all, thanks for your responses, so will I have to install it again?, from what I understood, this GT5 Collectors version will be treated like another game?. That will be a waste of HDD space. And what if I try to download the Collectors DLC in my own version of GT5 (Standard). Will it work?:)
