question about ps3 downloading

I know that PS3 can download content while you play, if you are offline, but why with some games the download stops and continues with others?
For example, with Heavy Rain, the download continues , but with Midnight Club LA it stops...
Do you know if there is a list with some information???

I think it might have to do with some updates including online only features, so it pauses or quits whenever it tries to download these features. I know on XBOX, if your offline Fallout 3 can download an update, whereas you get onto Halo 3, and it won't download because it doesn't have the online being used at that moment, meaning it has, basically nothing to update.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think this might be the reason.

Midnight Club connects to PSN, Heavy Rain doesn't. If you're playing a game that is accessing PSN features (even just leaderboards) then any background downloads will pause. The easiest way to download from the PS Store is to just download when you're not playing. What I like to do is instead of turning off my PS3 with the PS Button I'll go all the way to the left of the XMB and turn it off there, then it will give you the option of letting your downloads finish and then turning off on its own.

BONUS - when you go that route, the downloads will also be installed 👍

Like Villain said, I've found that it has a lot to do with a games online capability.
