OK HERE'S THE DEAL I DOWNLOADED THE PC DISC INTO THE PC.

I CONNECTED THE USB WIRES.

I INSERTED TO PS2 DISC INTO THE PS2.

AND NOW I'M TRYING TO GET A GAME SAVE ON TO MY MEM. CARD.

BUT, WHEN I CLICK ON MEM. CARD IT SAYS, "USB ERROR CONNECTING TO PS2."

WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?

NOOB - Are you serious?
Read the instructions! :banghead:

I usually get that message. I just wiggle the USB cords and make sure they are connected tightly then it usually works. Or I take them out and blow on them...

If you don't have your PS2 connected to your TV for Xporting/Sharkporting, like me, you can get this occasionally.

The PS2 makes a characteristic noise just as the Xport disc is loaded - watch it on the TV first and listen carefully. Wait until you hear this noise before launching the Xport/Sharkport programme on the PC.

Also:
Make sure the PS2 is ON.
Make sure the leads are in every socket properly.
Engage fore-brain.

Count me in as a n00b too then! :p

I have two computers at the house, and the Shartport will only download off the memory card from one of them. The other can copy files to the card, it just can't read the card.

FWIW, both systems are Compaq's with Win 98 (not SE ... doh! :irked: ). The PII/350 doesn't work, the PIII/400 does. Go figure. :odd: I've reloaded several times, and there are no dead drivers in the Control Panel.

I'm also trying to get an old Thinkpad 760 working with a PCMCIA USB card, but I've got some screwy driver issue. My PCMCIA drivers work, but Win98 keeps asking for a non-existent PCI-to-USB host driver.

If anyone has any ideas, please make me look st00pid. :D

I am using 2 PCs as well. One is a PII 300 with W98, the other is a Compaq with AMD 350 and W98SE. Both PCs work fine with the sharkport, but neither on worked properly till I manually loaded the drivers, even though there were no apparent driver issues.
