Question about taxes...

I'm helping a younger friend of mine file his taxes, and he asked me how much he was getting back. I wasn't too sure, so Ill ask you guys. (U.S. tax return.)

He earned a total of $14,700
He files 1040ez, single, no dependents.

Federal withheld - $1445.00
State Withheld - $517.45

Any other info, let me know.

1040EZ is not the most complicated piece of paper in the universe. It basically tells you to take the number from here on this form and put it here, then take that number from the other form there and put it here. It's 2nd grade arithmetic and (maybe) 3rd grade reading.

Sorry, but why are you asking for help? It doesn't get any better than that.

Dunno anything about Maine state tax, though. We Floridians rely on tourists to pay sales tax for us, so there's no state income tax here. (Although or property tax millage may be higher than others')
