Question About The Gameshark V3-4 Codes.

There is a handy threat in regards to hybrid codes on the sticky thread. There is a code to decrease the weight of the first car in the garage slot. Now does this have to be applied every time you launch the game ie do you have to select the code every time you plan to fire up the game or does it's effects stay permanent. So if I were to have a Lister Storm in the first slot and activate the 75% total weight code(so it weighs like the real race car should) then load game and the code worked would saving my game save those changes to? Also, can these work on the console with mcboot boot system with Gameshark 4-4 or codebreaker installed?

Any hybridding you do to a car should stay provided you save your game prior to rebooting
