<<Question about the sterring Wheel...GT Foce>>

OK i have the GT Force wheel and i wanted to know what is the difference when you go in the options and you have like skills Beguinner.....etc.. And the last one is simulation what is the difference in all of them :rolleyes:

Indeed - and so it has been moved.

On the question that provided the thread - dunno. I've always used Simulation.
 
I think beginner has a lighter steering than the simulation mode, although it's just a guess...
 
well.. I"m using amateur... it seems to work better than the other modes.. have no idea why though.. :confused:
 
OHHH yeah it's not the same it's more fun at simulation
 
Yeah but if you want the job done, use amatuer
but if its for some fun, go simmy :P
 
I did some research and testing on this a while back, here's the quick and dirty....

Beginner -> slow steering response on-center, countersteer help
Amateur -> faster steering response, minimal countersteer help
Professional -> even faster steering response on-center, no countersteer help
Simulation -> limits your ability to countersteer at all, quite severely, which makes this mode a complete misnomer and highly unrealistic.

I use Amateur setting with my wheel undercalibrated quite a bit. This seemed to be the best way for me to get a linear, quick response from my wheel without overdoing it on-center (in Pro mode my wheel will shake side to side when I try to go straight).
 
o that thing..... the.. .shaky thing... its funny... get a decent pwr car... ~600 HP
get on TC (test course) get up to .. 150+ miles.... give the wheel a tiny flick...... then the wheel turns left n right n left n right n left n right n so on... hehe..

What I cannot understand is why GT3 uses a spring effect instead of friction or damper while the car is standing still. I mean, the wheel in a real car does not want to return to center unless you're moving, no? :odd:
 
is it worth it ... how do you sit w/ use ing it
i like to lay on my belly (floor or bed )while racing... any ideas.....thanks guys

I use a chair when I play with my wheel. I have a lap clamp so I dont have to worry about holding it on.

yeah i have a little tableand a chair me to and it goes super well...
 
I used to have one but found i couldn't have any place to hold it up, and i couldn't navigate the menus (i had the inferior version "GT Force") so i returned it. My controller is now severely worn out (X button doesn't work) so i guess i'll be getting another controller...
 
I have not experimented with the Beginner. Amateur and Pro modes. I am very happy someone brought this up.


I have a wheel that can only clamp to a table, and I literally dont have a table in my house that would work. I am thinking of going to a garage saleor something and buying a cheap desk. So, I dont tend to use the wheel that much because I just hold it with my legs

Uhh - you can navigate the menus using the DS2 plugged into Controller Port 1. The GT Force is actually the better wheel, as the Driving Force has a few bugs (like not being able to shift when the wheel is on full lock).
 
Does it? Ahh...I did plug in the Dualshock but found it such a hassle...being the lazy person i am. I got my new controller today, 30% off, it was 42 dollars...very good deal :)
