So, I heard a DLC called the "Family Upgrade" is being released for GT5. This means that all users on a PS3 where one of them has bought DLC content can download and apply the DLC to their accounts. Is this correctly understood?
See: http://us.gran-turismo.com/us/support/d6150.html

Does this mean I can use my British account to buy the DLC and then download and install it on my Icelandic account, on the same PS3? (Both accounts are European <=> Same BCES code for the game)

But they are saying and I quote:
*Please note that to purchase the DLC and the Family Upgrade, the region of your GT5 disc (Regions: Europe, North America, Japan, Asia) and the region of the PSN account which is used to sign in to the PlayStation®Store (selected when setting the address during account creation) must match. For example, if a user who owns the North American disc purchases the DLCs and Family Upgrade with an account that has a UK address and location, they will not be able to use the DLC using the North American game disc.

Is the quote saying that in order for the Family Upgrade to work, the sharing DLC accounts must have matching regions (Europe f.x.) and addresses (home residence in the same country)?

No still account locked.

My 1st account is AU acc with US disc, then I created US acc in october in order to get the 1st DLC, and today after I installed the family upgrade pack from the 2nd acc (US acc) I logged into my AUS acc and I could get all the DLC cars and tracks.
And yes I did start over GT5, now my 2nd acc became my main acc

So you are saying
1. You purchased DLC content with a US account
2. You applied the family upgrade and
3. Installed the DLC content on your AUS account

Correct?

I was thinking the same, but I guess the example given in the GT website is general. We already know that you need a US version to use the US DLC and etc...
I guess they used UK and US as an example, since UK it's kinda the main country to represent europe around the world.

Haven't tested myself, but in theory you should be able to buy the DLC with your UK account, and use it on your Icelandic account.
I'm on the same boat as you, since my account is Portuguese and I'm living in the UK.

When I downloaded the one family upgrade for the cars last night, once it installed, all it did was allow me to purchase the cars from the NCD on my other two accounts. I didn't have to re-install the complete pack on the other two accounts.

One thing I did find out today, is that there are two family upgrades to download and install. One for the cars and one for the tracks. I only did the cars one last night.

When I downloaded it from the PS Store I went to Install DLC on the home screen and then installed it there. Just like when I bought it on my main account it filled my delivery truck will all of the cars... I still yet to open them all... this one at a time thing isnt cool and I dont want to do the new open all because I have a level 24 ticket that I dont want to open on it....

Heck, I fell asleep last night controller in hand opening tickets and only got halfway though

I'll have to go back and try to install it on my other accounts tonight. Once I saw it let me buy them in the NCDs of the other two accounts, I assumed that was how they implemented the upgrade, not actually putting the cars in my delivery truck. Thanks for the info. 👍

No problem. BTW if you bought the 2nd Car Pack it works the same way but doesnt require an additional download. Those cars will be in your DLC install section on home screen too, then go to your truck ;)

I think I had 17/18 cars in my second accounts truck...

Family upgrade works perfectly fine for the tracks and cars even when you have different countries accounts, as long of course, they are within the same region (in my case, europe)

YES but somehow only the car packs and the course pack are there in my AUS account, not the paint and gear

The paint and gear is not included with the Family upgrades.

I went back last night and downloaded the 2nd Family Upgrade. Then, I went into my two other accounts and installed the cars and tracks. I'm not looking forward to opening all of those tickets across two accounts, but I can't use the "open all" option at this time, because I have many other tickets that I do not want to open on those accounts.

Oh well, a few beers should help ease the pain of having to open 30 tickets, one at a time, across two accounts.

Happy New Year to all of you!

I have a question that has been rolling in my head since the family upgrade was interduced, Frankly i have two profiles runing GT5 on, one is carying my home country flag (Lebanon) primium , and the GTP_username profile with a british acc secondary. now i did wait for a solution from PD in order to get the DLC working on both accounts and the wait was painfull i havent baught any DLC's .

To get to the point my question is :

if i baught the DLC on my british acc and be aware that my disc is region2 (europ) can i still make the family upgrade to work on my main lebanese account baring in mind that the later acc does not have access to PSN since you will be hit by the famous PSN is not available in your country region.
