Not all threads require an explanation. My take on this one is it's yet another pointless ranting thread.

More than pointless, just shows how ignorant the poster is and looked like QQ topic.

Reason for the polar vortex is explained by scishow.

Looks like someone was being a troll, and his thread was locked.

I don't recall any articles about the head of PD forcing people to buy his game. Did I miss something?

The following thread was locked with no explanation why.

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/kaz-is-to-blame-for-the-polar-vortex.304024/

Could you please tell me why it was locked.

Thank you
I locked it and this is exactly the reason:

Everyone wants their voice to be the one that's heard, of course. First make sure its saying something worth listening to and that hasn't already been said many times before in one form or another, particularly if its likely to stir up bad feeling and inflamed, unnecessary debates that are, in fact, already going on all over the GT6 sections of the site.

Looks like someone was being a troll......................

I'm not entirely sure the member concerned is a troll, Azure Flare, and it may be unfair to brand him as such; I have read many of his posts, and he contributes well. Maybe he had too much time on his hands and decided to voice his displeasure at those who blame Kaz for everything - including the 'Polar Vortex' (which is something like 'Dark Energy' ;) ) - the irony being that he was 'forced' to stay indoors and enjoy GT6.

However there are too many times such threads have appeared - and it only serves to make the moderators work harder, because these threads, as Vagabond outlined, become an excuse for a spam-fest.

If I'm to assume the member did it with sufficient intelligence to know it would be a spam-fest, or that it would get locked, then no doubt he needs to be smacked for that - but we don't know that for a fact. Only repetitious behaviour will bring that pattern to light.

This thread began as a humorous statement, it was my counter and initiated debate that likely resulted in the thread being locked. The mods on this site are intimidated by serious debate so they minimize the importance of it and water it down to pointless ranting. It provides a neat excuse to block debate, and if you don't like it you are told to report it to an admin.

The plan seems to be keep the complaints and debates to a select few threads so they can control the messages. Seems like censorship to me. Control the flow of information to keep PD and Sony insulated from complaints.

As the editor for a blog I get plenty of time to have my voice heard Vagabond, and I am not stirring up trouble. Trouble has already started for this forum. Sales are waning, negative press is growing and the amount of complaints here look to be growing at an accelerated rate. You are in an unenviable position trying to protect the integrity of the brand and the happy fans, from the brewing discontent. Censorship is not the answer.

@kikie The Opinions & Current Events forum is open to the public.

@JMR450 Our GT6 forums are flooded with valid complaints and debates - we even have a dedicated GT6 Reviews & Feedback forum where everyone is actively encouraged to share and discuss their thoughts and opinions.

Your comments in the thread in question were interesting and well-spoken, and would be welcome in their own topic or one of the dozens - if not hundreds - of other threads available. Instead, you posted them in an odd, satirical topic which accuses Kazunori of cataracts and climate change. Although I appreciate the thread creator's attempt at humor, those types of threads dilute the usefulness of that forum, and harm the signal/noise ratio in what should be a very important part of the site for GT's producers to read.

I support @Vagabond's action, which demonstrates almost the exact opposite of what you accuse him/us of doing.

I disagree entirely, not surprisingly of course. I've been nurse-maiding this thread for the last week:
https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/thre...here-is-our-promised-community-update.303455/
..with the express intention of keeping debate and enlightened conjecture alive without sinking into pointless bickering and wild stabs at PD or Kaz, as there is a tendency to atack him personally with some vigour, which is unnecesarily disrespectful.

Also, although the theme of debate is similar:

and

I don't see this censorship you speak of - I see a good choice of mostly civil and informed debate. Consolidating these discussions to a few topics rather than allowing everyone to start another one, particularly with such an air of disrespect, would be chaotic and impossible to keep from running out of control. Tensions are high and this needs careful micro-management.

Indeed it requires management. As I said, you are in an unenviable position. But my comments were not disrespectful nor did my suggestions fit into the usual comments posted above in those three threads. My intention was to have a fact filled conversation with another member who was interested.

If I am guilty of anything, it was making the mistake of trying to turn a satirical opening thread into a worthwhile thread. You know, someone starts with humor and from that a comfortable, civil discussion ensues.

I consider myself duly chastised.

I don't believe I've chastised you at all? You were just a casualty of an inevitability. Your, posts, which were well written, would be more at home in more enlightened discussion. 👍
