Question For Wheel Users

So, I've been playing GT6 since the release now, and I've noticed that drifting or sliding the car seems to be much more difficult than in GT5, and for the first few days I accounted that to the new physics, but I'm still struggling and noticed what the issue appears to be.

I'm using a Logitech G27, which I have used for over a year now and never experienced a similar problem with GT5, Race, iRacing, or RFactor since I purchased the wheel. However, in GT6 so far, there is a very discernible delay between my inputs and when the car turns. Nothing overly drastic making the game unplayable, but clearly noticeable and hampering towards the gameplay, and it's making it nearly impossible for me to give proper inputs during a slide.

I just wanted to ask to see if other people are having this issue, and if this is something on GT6's end, or if something is wrong with my wheel, and what can possibly done to fix the issue. Thanks!

Try to switch off any video processing on the TV. Although i played for 2 years in GT5 with DFGT with all processing on, stuff like picture smoothing etc, i had no problems. Switching to G27 i tried turning processing off and got better response and times.
Playing with it off in GT5 and now GT6, i cant go back now, and always make sure i turn processing off before i play.
its only a few milliseconds, but it is noticeable once getting used to driving without it. I think it is more noticeable on the G27 than on the DFGT.

Me too, I'm using DFGT.. the input lag is probably around 0.15 second.
Although the input lag is barely noticeable when racing normally, I still find it difficult for drifting. that 0.15 second is crucial for countersteering in drifting..
I don't know if this is normal or caused by my TV.

Yes, I too see this "lag" issue show up after perhaps 45 minutes to an hour of online play. I've been going to "START" and do the cache clear deal at least 3 times and most of the time that takes care of it. A few times I've had to hit the PS button and quit the game and in a very few instances have had to back completely out, reboot the game and go back in. I agree the lag causes handling issues and like you I hope they find a solution to this. I've been told by a couple of my online friends the problem is perhaps a sync issue with my and their server.

Well, I tried messing around with just about everything I could on my TV, but that has made no difference. I do believe it's on the end of GT, but since I also experience it in the single player mode (I am online) I don't know if the problem lies with the servers, or just poor support for certain, if not all, wheels

I'm able to drift in GT6. I've gotten a gold on all coffee break drifting rounds but I haven't got around to building my own drift car yet.

I have G27
GT5 , GT6 , rfactor , f1 2012 , f1 2013 . work fine without any lag . samsung smart tv

Maybe the "lag" is due to controller sensitivity set too low? I've had to increase mine compared to GT5, use to use -2 now I use 2.

No, I tried this, it does nothing. Thanks to everyone on the feedback so far. I guess... this issue appears to be completely random, seeing as some people are experiencing it with setups that are similar to people who aren't having this problem. Hopefully this is on the end of GT6, and it is just some random bug, or it's just something silly I'm completely missing that would fix it, because it's almost completely debilitating in IA level cars and above.

Once again, thanks for the feedback everyone 👍
