When racing in a series with no limit on tyre choice, is it possible to find out what tyre the competition are running? In series featuring road cars (Tuner cup, Schwarzwald B etc.), am I right to assume that the field is on a sports hards?
Lastly, great forum, guys... Im pretty new to gt5 and ive found it an invaluable source of info..

Before the race, I don't think so. The only way I know of is to start the race, stop it, then watch the replay and cycle through the AI cars. Their tyre choice will be listed on the top left of the screen.

Oh, and welcome to :gtplanet:

Cheers, daan... Problem solved..

That's only online, silly.

Before you enter the track you can check typical opposition & I'm sure it also says what rubber they'll use.

I don't think that it does, Jay (I'm not in position to check right now.)

I think only the seasonal events give you an idea on the rubber.

I believe that the AI always uses the stock tire compound in A-spec.

If you want a rough idea of what the competition is using in A-Spec without looking at the replay, see what the limit is for that same race in B-spec.

They don't always use stock tires, no. B-Spec regulations can give you an idea but I don't know if that is foolproof. Otherwise you just have to guess (usually comfort soft, sports hard or sports soft, and race hard or medium for race cars - mediums may only be used in endurance races but I'm not 100% sure) based on the event and if it seems wrong, check the replay.

thought he meant online
